The worship theme wee "The
Importance of a Child" and was
taken by Mrs. Ed Lamport as-
sisted by Mrs. R. Schroeder,.
Mrs, Douglas Galloway and.
Mrs. ',erne presecator were in
charge of the entertainment.
Mrs. Galloway acted as
lady for the program of songs
and recitations by the children,
Mrs. Preszcator told a chil-
dren's story following which
the children were taken outside
for games.
Mrs, R. Reld, president, pre-
sided for the business. At this
time Mrs. P. Boulia.nne was
presented with a gift and words
of appreciation for her work in
the church were given by Mrs.
Ed Lamport.
Lunch was served by hostess-
es, Mrs. L. Hill and Mrs. P.
Boulianne assisted by Mrs. S.
King and Mrs. E. Neil.
BRIDE HONORED AT TEA
About 75 friends and relatives
attended a trousseau tea held
June 10 at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Fahner in honor
of their daughter, Nancy Ann.

vice Sunday morning "The Lord
is My Shepherd" was sung by
seven children from Miss Carol
Johns' school, Usborne. They

ton.

Miss Lillian Brown of Tor-
onto, evangelistic missionary
on furlough from Khania, Cen-
tral India was guest speaker
at the meeting of Main St. UCW
afternoOn unit Tuesday after-
noon, She brought greetings
from the Maliva Church Coun-
cil of Northern India and her
local congregation to the women
of Canada.
Miss Brown presented the
question "Is the Church a form
or a force?" and challenged the
members to make the church a
force it should be in the com-
munity and the world.
She Illustrated her talk with
slides of her work and display-
ed articles of handwork and the
costumes of the women of India
and the Punjab. Members of
CGIT were dressed in colorful
native saris and a two-piece
ensemble from the Punjab. The
girls served lunch in their cos-
tumes.
Mrs. Glen McKnight led in
the worship period and Mrs. R.
J. McCaffery favored with a
solo. President Mrs. E, Russell
conducted the business.

The Elimville WI held its
meeting Wednesday evening,
June 10 with the president, Mrs.
Ross Skinner in charge of busi-
ness.
Roll call was, answered by
"An Accident Prevention in the
Home". The short courses were
chosen. An invitation to Zur-
ich's 50th anniversary was ac-
cepted for Wednesday evening
June 17.
Mrs. Wellington Brock gave
the report of the District Annual
held in Thames Road UC and
Mrs. Skinner asked everyone
and their families to attend the
TB clinic at the Township Hall
July '7 from 3-5 pm or 7-10pm.
Mrs. Jack Hern gave an ac-
count of the fall rally program
to be held in Hensall October 5.
Mrs. Colin Gilfillan and Mrs.
Bev Parsons were in charge of
the program on home economics
and health.
Mrs. Elson Lynn gave a read-
ing and Misses Karen and Deb-
bie Hern favoured with two duets
accompanied by Mrs. G r ant
Skinner on the piano.
Mrs. B. Parsons introduced
the speaker Miss Norma West-
gate, the public health nurse of
Huron County who gave an in-
teresting account of the outline
of her work which involves the
immunization clinics, prenatal
classes, TB clinic, retarded
children, rabies clinics, and
also the general health of the
school pupils in many schools
and several other duties per-
taining to the safety and health
of all members in the county.
