The fourth annual. science
fair is again being held this
year in conjunction with the
Qpen House and the chicken
barbecue on May 28.
The pnrpose of this fair is
primarily to foster among the
Student body a deeper under-
standing of sciences and mathe-
matics as well as a spirit of
self-endeavour, showmanship,
and competition.
An exhibit may be entered
by an individual, a couple or a
group such as a class, but each
student may enter only one ex-
hibit in each of the four classes,
Class A includes an exhibit
of experiment, construc-
tion, model, principle or col-
lection of a scientific or mathe-
matical nature. The exhibits in
this class are by far the most
interesting and require the most
imagination and creative abil,
ity.
Class B is of a different na-
ture as it includes an exhibit
of an essay on a scientific
topic.
Class C is composed of ex-
hibits of diagramming. The dia.,
grams must be from current
or past science or mathematic

Class P features an exhibit
of notes. The student must sub?
mlt, ten .consecutive pages from
his notebook,
All the exhibits in the classes
Will be judged for scientific
thought, creative ability, clarity
,and display value, Students ex-,'
hibiting in ClasS A must be
present with their exhibit to give
any explanation the judge may
*mire.
This fair has been a success
in the past and there will prob-
ably again be some very in-
teresting exhibits. Last Year I
was amazed at some of the ex-
hibits and wondered how any-
one in our school could ever
have thought of that. Before this
fair was started, no one had an
opportunity to show what they
could do.
Along with this fair is the
barbecue and the meal is pre-
pared by the boys in the grade
10 agriculture classes.
The program at night includes
a fashion show. French and
Spanish oral speaking compe,
titions, a posture contest and
some awards are to be given
out.
So be sure to buy a ticket and
attend.
