Wants school
question aired
Councillor Harold Knight re-
ported last week he would de-
finitely be one of those in
attendance at the Huron County
Municipal Officers meeting in
Clinton on May 27, as he had
some "burning questions" in
regard to education that he
wanted answered.
Although Hon. J. W. Spooner,
minister of municipal affairs,
will be the main speaker at the
session, there will also be some
authorities there with informa-
tion about education.
In an interview after council
meeting, Knight stated he was
not clear on the school board
subject.
He said he wanted to find
out why Hensall could not form
a school board because the
population was under 1,000, but
at the same time only five fa-
milies could join a Separate
School and form their own board
"just as easy as that".
"This," he stated, "is what
I would like to find out about."
He noted it was a touchy prob-
lem because it involved relig-
ion but he explained that re-
ligion did not enter into his
query at all. "It's just a matter
of wanting to know whys" he
said.
