meeting and the President Mrs,

said last Sunday he was well
aware of the many difficulties
now facing the small rural chur,
clips in this Diocese, and he was
hoping it would be possible in
the future to find some way of
re,grouping them so as to free
them frOin financial strain.
At a meeting with the Manage,
ment Boards of Rrinsley and
Ailsa Craig Anglican churches,
he was also questioned about the
possibility of Church reunion
and expressed the hope that the
day would come when the Angli,

Bishop Luxton also spent
some time talking about the
document, "Mutual Responsi-
bility andinterdependence in the
Body of Christ'', which was
issued at the end of the Angli-
can Conference in Toronto last
August..
He stressed the vital im-
portance of missionary work
and the need for every part of
the world-wide Anglican Com-
munion to understand and help
every other part.
The Diocese of Huron, he
said, has decided to raise —
over and above its present mis-
sionary givings $75,000 each
year for the next five years
for the support of needy Angli-
can Churches in Africa and
other countries. Every parish
in the Diocese will be asked
to join in a special aPPeal for
this purpose on Sunday, May 10.
Right Rev. Luxton celebrated
Holy Communion at St. Mary's
Brinsley, in the morning. He
was assisted by the rector, Rev.
R. G. Jackson, and Gerald
Wright acted as the Bishop's
staff-bearer.
The ladles of the church serv-
ed light refreshments after the
service, enabling the Bishop to
meet members of the congre-
gation before he went to Trinity
Church, Ailsa Craig, for aCon-
firmation service at 11:30 a.m.

to mark their completion of a three-month confirmation class
at Brinsley United Church. Rev. Ken Hick, left, minister of the

Staffa driver
faces charges
A 22-year-old Staffa man was
charged with careless driving
following a chase early Satur-
day which ended when his car
hit the abutment of the CNR
overhead bridge on Highway 21,
just north of Goderich.
William Francis Parsons,
who received a cut chin in the
accident, will appear in court
in Goderich Thursday. A female
passenger was not injured.
Goderich constable John
Ruxton said he tried to stop a
car about 2:00 a.m, for speed-
ing. The vehicle did not stop and
Constable Ruxton gave chase.
During the chase, he said, the
car's lights were turned off
several times.
Damage to the auto was esti-

Fraser Boyle, five-year-old

ing a fall from the back of a
playmate's tricycle. He had a
dislocated hip and a splintered
bone in his leg. He is able to
be about with a cast on his leg.
