Prepare for annual April cancer campaign
Local branch of the Caeadian Cancer Society starts its annual campaign for service and research
funds this Sunday with the display of daffodils, symbols of hope, in area churches. Canvasses will
be conducted in all area municipalities with the hope of exceeding last year's total. Campaign.

campaign for the cancer fund,
Dr, F. A. McMaster, Grand
Bend, after a brief talk on
cancer and a qeestieUnaire,
gave a travelogpe on his trip
to South America and showed
movies of spenes there. The
speaker was introdecedby Fred
Dobbs and thanked by Robert
Lapdog.
Mrs. Joseph. McConnell,Sea-
forth, unit president, was intro-
deced by Mrs. Richard Van
Farowe and spoke briefly.
Barry Jeffery favored with two
accordion selections.
Lloyd Bern, and Robert Lux-
ton presented slides of the work
of the Cancer Society, showing
the different treatments and the
cost.
A social hour with refresh-
ments followed. Each of the
women on the executive wore
yellow sniocks so they might be
identified and be of assistance,

wives at a social evening in the
community centre Monday,
March 30. Eighty-five sat down
to dinner served by Dashwood
WI, President Hugh Boyle wel-
comed everyone. A toast to the
ladies was proposed by Glen
Webb and responded to by Mrs.
Ralph Weber.
Harry Hoffman conducted a
sing song assisted by Alvin
Wolper. The Paul Brothers of
Danny, Kevin, and Randy of
Aylmer, Charles and Leonard
Becker, and Mr. & Mrs. Henry
Becker with Mr. & Mrs. Lorne
Becker and family.
Private Charles Olsen of
Camp Borden with his aunt and

Special services were held in
both the Evangelical and Luth-
eran churches Good Friday and
Easter Sunday. Special Sunrise
services were held in both
churches. The youth of the HUB
church took the leadership in
the service.
Fellowship breakfasts were
served following the services.
The Bethany Sisters Sunday
School class was in charge at
the EUB church while Group 2
of the Ladies Aid with Mrs.
Rudolph Miller convener was
in charge at the Lutheran
church.
