were guests of RCAF Station
Centralia for a training confer-
ence PridaY.
After receiving a welcome
from Group Captain L. H, Ran-
dall, commanding officer, the
cadet officers, and instructors
tackled an agenda including
training syllabi review, sum-
mer camps, sports days and
rifle competition.
The visiting ladies were taken
on a tour of station facilities
by Flt. Lts. R. W. Patey and
R. J. Saunders, Theladies were
given a weather briefing at the
met section, saw John Glenn in
a film called "The Mastery of
Space" at. Fullerton Hall. After
a tour of this building they were
taken to the engineering centre
for a computer demonstration.
Visitors attended from Lon-
don, Windsor, Leamington, Sar-
nia, St. Thomas, Blenheim and
Chatham squadrons.
In charge of arrangements at
Centralia was the senior unit
liaison officer, S/L G. C. Whit-
tington, chief of service train-
ing at central officers' school.

The ladies were urged to save
their Canada Packer labels so
that the goal could be reached
in June. A nominating commit-
tee was appointed consisting of
Mrs. J. M. Tiernan, Mrs. Emil
Becker, and Mrs. Milford Mer-
rier, Juice glasses are to be
purchased for the kitchen. The
hand book will be used at the
next meeting.
During the social hour bunco
was played with Mrs. Hugh
Boyle and Mrs. Gordon Bender
winning prizes.

played two solos on the trum-
pet.
Mrs. Carl Oestreicher, pre-
sident, presided for the busi-
ness. Mrs. J. M. Tieman and
Mrs. Carl Oestreicher were
appointed to prepare a display
for the WSWS convention to be
held in Hamilton.
Dashwood tailor
last of his family
Mark Brokenshire, 87, of
Dashwood died in South Huron
Hospital Monday, March 9, hav-
ing been a patient for the past
three weeks.
Mr. Brokenshire was the last
surviving member of a family
of 12 of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel Brokenshire of Sharon.
He was a tailor and merchant
in Dashwood for many years,
although he, had given up the
tailoring some years ago.
Surviving are a sister-in-
law, Mrs. William Brokenshire,
Strathroy, and quite a number of
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were con-
ducted by Rev. M. J. James of
the HUB church, Dashwood, at
the R. C. Dinney funeral home,
Exeter, Wednesday, March 11
with interment in Exeter ceme-
tery.

The sixth meeting of the 4-H
Club was held at the home of
Mrs. Ernest Whitehouse Satur-
day afternoon. Ten members
answered the roll call. The
minutes of the last meeting
were read by Gwen McLean.
Thea Van Nickerk is the new
secretary.
Donna Whitehouse was elec-
ted vice-president in the place
of Grace Riley. 'Achievement
day was discussed by those
present.
Mrs. Robert Bell told how to
put the facings on and the fitting
of the blouse.
The next meeting will be held
Sat. March 21 at the home of
Mrs. E. Whitehouse.
