open the meeting and this was
followed by a voeal duet by
,Sheila and. Wendy Elston with
their mother, Mrs, Allan Els-
ten playing the piano „accorp,
paniment. Mrs, Alvin Essery
favored with a piano solo.
A citizenship report prepared
'by Mrs. Earl Haist was read
by Mrs. Harvey Smith, The
program was in keeping with the
Easter season. An article was
read by Mrs. Powe and an
Easter message was given by
mrs. Elliott,
Mrs. Ross McFalls conduct-
ed the business part of the
meeting, Mrs. Frank Osborne,
who will be moving away before
the end of the month was pre-
sented with a cup and saucer.
The hostesses were Mrs.
Murray Elliott, Mrs. E. Powe,
Mrs. M. Abbott and Mrs. R.
Breen.
Bruce Fulcher was a two goal
man for •Canadians. Tom. Prout
and Randy Parsons shared the
others,
Ronnie Jenke scored Hawks'
lone goal on a pass from. Marvin
Bower in a game that was
featured by some excellent
goaltending from Mike Mc,
Laughlin and Mike Glavin.
Jim Guenther polished off a
two-way play with Dentin Geiser
for the Wings' goal.

Canadiens, sparked by Ricky
McDonald's six goals, bombed
the Siskins 13-10 in their first
midget,juvenile game,
"Bugs" Marriage added four
more for the Canadiens while
Larry Willert got the "hat
trickly.
Cornish had seven for the
Siskins. Ken Davidson scored
twice and Doug McBride once.

BRIDE ELECT HONORED
Miss Carol McCurdy was
guest of honor at a miscel-
laneous shower in the school-
room of the church Saturday
evening.
Numbers on the program in-
cluded a vocal duet by Jean
Lammie and Ann Shoebottom
with Sharon Lightfoot at the
piano; a piano solo by Judy
Blair and a reading by Mrs.
Chas. Rollings.
An address was read by Mrs.
Bill Rader (the former Gwen
Lightfoot) of Dashwood who with
Blanche Rollings assisted the
bride-to-be in displaying the
gifts.
Carol expressed her thanks.
The room was tastefully de-
corated for the occasion.

ROBERT RUNDLE
Robert James Rundle, 53,
well known resident of the Base
Line, Blanshard, died suddenly
at his home Lot 8 concession 7
Monday evening March 2,
shortly after he had been en-
gaged in loading cattle. He suf-
fered a heart seizure.
Mr. Rundle was the son of
the late Arthur James Rundle
and Esther Fletcher and was
born on the above farm Feb-
ruary 19, 1911. He took over
the farm from his parents.
Mr. Rundle was a member
and trustee of Woodham United
Church and is survived by his
wife, the former GenevaPayne,
and by two sons James andJohn
at home.
Funeral services took place
from the L. A. Ball chapel,
St. Marys, Thursday, March 5
with temporary entombment in
the mausoleum at Stratford with
interment at a later date in
Kirkton Union Cemetery.
Those attending the funeral
from a distance were Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Stewart, Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. McKay, Mr. and
Mrs. Rundle Stewart of Wind-
sor, Mrs. R. Klenner of De-
troit, Mr. and Mrs. David Orr,

Exeter Recreation Basketball
League wound up its schedule
Thursday night and will begin
its semi-final playoff series
tonight at HSDHS.
RCAF Centralia Flyers will
meet the Flying Farmers at 7
p.m. while the teachers will
tangle with Zurich Hustlers in
an 8 o'clock game.
The semi-final series is a
sudden-death affair. The two
teams emerging with victories
will play a two-game total-
point series for the champion-
ship.
FLYERS WIN LEAGUE
Centralia's Flyers wrapped
up the league title with their
12th straight victory of the
season last Thursday. They de-
feated the last place Zurich
Hustlers 99-56 In one of the
highest scoring games of the
season.
McPhee once again was the
Flyer hot-shot with 44 points.
Bazanko ran second in the point
department with 22.
Simon Nagel and Don O'Brien
paced the Hustlers with 26 and
23 points respectively.
TEACHERS WIN
Teachers, who finished se-
cond in the standings, upset the
Flying Farmers 64-42.
George Wright with 26 and
Ron Bogart 11, paced the win-
ners.
Chub McCurdy collected 11
for the Farmers and Harry
Schroeder tipped in 10 for the
Farmers.
