PENTECOSTAL The Pentecostal Holiness Church went all out for Youth Week. The Life-liners were in charge of the Wednesday night prayer meeting with Carmen Hardy of Thorndale as guest speaker, speaking on "The Youth of David". At the regular Friday Young Peoples, Peter Butler and Linda Currie were the speakers, There was also special music. At the 11 am Sunday service Rev. E. A. Gagnon spoke on, "Practical Youth Problems". At the evening service Paul Graham spoke on "Paul's pow- er for the Hour". The Life- liners were in charge of the music. WA Mrs. Howard Currie was in charge of the WA meeting held at her home last week. Mrs. Robert Logan took the worship service. Missionary boxes to be sent to Alaska were packed. Plans for the work of 1964 were discussed. ROSS SKINNER SLIM VILLE The annual meeting of the Elimville ITC was held Friday evening January 31 taking the form of a pot luck supper with over 40 members present. Rev, Hugh Wilson was in charge of the business meeting and Howard Johns was elected secretary. The Session, Missionary and Maintenance, and Steward re- ports were given showing a satisfactory standing in all de- partments. All other organiza- tion reports were adopted. The C em etery Board re- ceived a gift of $500 during the year from Lewis Woods. Retiring members of theSes- sion, Delmer Skinner and Gil- bert Johns -were reappointed, other members being Horace Delbridge, Wm. Routly, Howard Pym and Newton Clarke, Members to the "Board of Stewards" are Howard Johns, Ross Skinner and John Batten and Mrs. John Batten, vice- president of the UCW. Other members are Lewis Johns, Lorne Elford, Gordon Ford, Franklin Skinner, Free- man Horne, John Miners. Harold Bell was re-elected to the trustees, other members being Elson Lynn, John Ridley, Philip Johns and Amos Herd- man, The M & M committee are Mrs. Elson Lynn, Mrs. Gilbert Johns, Mrs. Kenneth Johns, Philip Johns and Miss Ruth Skinner, treasurer of UCW. ANGLICAN The Evening WA assisted by the afternoon branch sponsored a successful "Get Acquainted" party last Wednesday afternoon. They were very pleased to have so many young mothers and their children out. Miss Lina Abbott conducted a WA contest. The winners were Mrs. Allan Ryan and Mrs. Norman Hardy. MEDALS AWARDED At the Sunday service, Rev. E. 0, Lancaster dedicated new book ribbons and presented the Jan. achievement medals for attendance, attention and co- operation to junior choir mem- bers: Janis Freeman and Har- ry Dickson. This was Harry's two consecutive months to be a winner. UNITED CHURCH Youth Sunday was celebrated with a splendid parade of Scouts, Cubs, CGIT, Explorers and YPU. The pastor, the Rev. G. W. Sach, led in the service. Carol Haskett read the re- sponsive psalm, Randy Paul read the first lesson, Barbara Park read the secoed lesson. David Stewart a second year UWO student and a candidate for the ministry of the Pres- byterian Church, (at the re- quest of the YPU) Was the guest speaker speaking on, Steadfast — Unmovable — Abounding. In lieu of flowers for the late Wes Revington the afternoon UCW unit purchased four me- morial Bibles for the church school. These with two Bibles in memory of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Armitage from the family were dedicated at the 11 o'clock service. The junior choir sang.
