Wouldn't it be joyful to take
the whole bag of days so pare,,
fully Saved, gad pacett in the
hands. of a dying child or a
loved and aging parept, and say
''Here, these are all for Tollf
don't need them?"
Yes, wouldn't it? It is terribly
sad, but we can't save A Single
day of them. But perhaps it's
just as, well. Only misers heard.
We can build up a treasure of
another kind, if we treat each
of those untarnished days we
are given as something pre
cioes, if we spend it with joy on
something worthwhile.
shall we?

Well, chaps, I hope you got
exactly what yOU wanted on
Christmas Day. And that you'll
get exactly what you deserve
on New Year's Day.
Here we are, with the whole
of another unpredictable year
ahead of us, and even an extra
day tossed in, An those bright,
shiny days, fresh from the mint
of time, not a chip or a crack
or a stain on a single one of
them,
Wouldn't it he wonderful if we
could wrap them in cotton wool,
put them away in a safe place,
and bring them out, fresh and
gleaming, to use when we want-
ed them?
Wouldn't it be grand to un-
wrap 10 golden days without a
tarnish on them, and spend
them in one reckless sweep; or
just look at their perfection;
or give them to someone who
needed them?
Wouldn't it be lovely, in some
gloomy week in some bleak
November, when the 1 eav es
weren't raked and the taxes
weren't paid, and the flu was
making the bones melt, to reach
into that secret place and pull
out just one or two of those
sparkling days without a blem-

married a widow with eight

We wish to thank the public for their generous
response in giving permanent homes to over 5,000
children in 1963. This has largely been accom-
plished through the fine services of Ontario's
Children's Aid Societies. Numbers of boys and
girls remain available for adoption by married
couples who have the kindness and capacity to
take them as their own.
Many children have been waiting for some
time because their age or religion, racial back-
ground or physical handicaps make it less easy to
find a home. Somewhere there are new parents
with whom each child could share a lifetime of
mutual happiness. Here are some typical Children:
