It was part of a minor hockey
day show put on to help raise
proceeds for the Exeter Minor
Hockey Association. The teen-
agers were to play the Exeter
Greys. ladies softball chain-
pions, but when they failed to
show up in sufficient number,
the players were divided into
two teams.
P.S. A rumor was heard that
the Greys were afraid to show
up for the game. It was said
that the teenagers would be too
much for the ball players. The
rumor could be true because
only one of the Greys did show
up for the game and now she's
using Sloan's linament to cure
the aches and pains.
T-A Sports Editor Ross
Haugh has commented on the
scoring and the other games
that took place in the Boxing
Day show,
HOUSE LEAGUE HOCKEY
With a number of teams away
at various hockey tournaments
throughout the Christmas holi-
days, participation was a little
on the light side for house
league hockey. However, sche-
duled games went on as planned.
In pee wee action, the Hawks
remained undefeated when they
clipped the Red Wings 4-2 in a
nip and tuck battle. In the second
contest, Canadiens edged the
Maple Leafs 4-3.
Marvin Bower and Ron Janke
each pumped home two goal s for
the league leading Black Hawks.
Jim Guenther and Ron Lin-
denfield shared the Red Wing
marker-S.
Bruce Fulche.r turned in the
"hat-trick" for the Canadiens
with a three goal performance.
Randy Parsons continued his
weekly scoring spree by netting
the other for the winners,
The Maple Leafs got good
mileage out of Larry Haugh,
bob England and Chtick Boul-
iatliie as each player scored one
goal apiece.

gain a 5-5 tie with Blyth ju-
veniles In the northern town
Friday to maintain their un-

the Exeterites out in front 2-1.
Stire's second, on a combina-
tion effort with Jim Pfaff and
Craig Davidson, completed the
scoring for the middle session.
The final 20 minutes turned
into a free scoring ding-dong,
battle with the Blyth boys out-
scoring the visliors 4-2 to gain
the tie.

ing and leave the Mohawks one
shy of a tie.
FALL BEHIND QUICKLY
In the loss on foreign ice,
Mohawks were on the short end

first period and saved most of
their scoring power for the
last 20 minutes.
Cy Blommaert with the first
of two tallied the lone Tribe
marker of the opening session.
Jim Russell notched a lone
second period score.
Two early third frame scores
by Bob Jones and Blommaert's
second goal at the midway point
rounded out the Exeter total.
