of us or maybe they try harder.
Paul Drysdale was the winner
of the draw for all students who
sold over $30 worth of sub-

Brian Hogarth, Clare Skin-
ner and Margaret Salmon were
the students who sold the most

The class which sold the most
subscriptions was 10E and they
sold three times their quota.
Jane Poortinga of 10E was the
winner of the draw for the
stuffed donkey.
The target of this campaign
was $3,500. However, this
amount was exceeded as $5,650
worth of subscriptions were
sold.
VACATION TIME
Many students are probably
spending their holidays at home
but there are also many who are
on vacation. Four girls, Bonnie
Turvey, Grade 13; Susan Din-
ney, Grade 12; Kathy. Smith and
Ann Fairbairn, both Grade 11
students, attended a Toc Alpha
convention in Toronto.
I wonder if any of the students
were fortunate enough to go
south. It certainly would be nice
to be in Florida now and sun-
bathing on some beach.
BASKETBALL
Alliour basketball teams
have been practising vigorously
during the holidays. They are
having three work-outs during
the holidays.
Miss Siegner is coaching the
two girl's teams. The senior
boys are being coached by Mr.
Wright and the juniors by Mr.
Rickert.
The first game is January 8
when the girls play Goderich
here.

Which group had the most fun?
When officer cadets at RCAF Centralia were entertaining a group of 100 orphans from London
recently, it was questionable as to who was having the most fun—the children of their adopted-for-
a-day ((fathers". The answer appears to be that both enjoyed the event so much that the cadets
plan to repeat the project next year. The children came from four institutions by bus just in time
to see Santa. Claus arrive by Chipmunk aircraft. At the cadets' lounge where the children were
paired off with their "fathers", they were entertained by a magician and ventriloquist, received
treats and were presented with gifts by St. Nick. In charge of the planning for the party were Fit.

It's still the surest way to get around •
With the total month's snowfall ranging around the 50-inch mark, there's nothing safer for trans-
portation than a team of horses and a sleigh. Above, Henry Pfaff, of the second concession of Ste-
phen, isn't taking any chances on getting stuck. Besides, it brings back fond memories of earlier
