ELECT OFFICERS
The Senior Citizen's annual
meeting was held Tuesday with
a pot hick dinner highlighting
the event, Following the dinner
hour, election of officers took
place. president Barry Norris
reeigned his position in favor of
the vice president, Harold
Carey. T, Laing was elected
vice president, Mrs. Darrell
Parker, secretary and Mrs. T,
Laing, treasurer,
Mrs. Carey and Mrs. Dodds
Were named as lunch committee
for three months and Mrs. E.
Moore and Mrs. K. McKellar
are the program committee for
the January meeting.
A short program opened with
community singing. Miss Olive
Speare gave a reading and Mrs.
Laing conducted a quiz on
Christmas hymns, Several
carols were sung with Mrs. Mc-
Coughey at the piano. Rev. J.
C. Boyne brought greetings to
the group.
At the church service Sunday
three babies were baptized:
Mark James, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Laurie McKellar, Doug-
las James, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Carlyle Meikle and Ro-
bert James, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Garry Quance.
Mr. and Mrs. H. R, Currie,

were weekend visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Otto Walker.
Miss Margaret Ann Wallace
of London spent a couple of
days with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. John Wallace.
Mrs. Otto Walker visited Sun-
day with Mr. Lorne Wassman
at the home of Mr. Alvin Cor-
nish, Exeter.
LA ELECTS OFFICERS
The annual meeting of the La-
die's Aid was held at the home
of Mrs. T. L, Scott when rou-
tine and annual reports were
given by the various secre-
taries. The treasurer's annual
repo r t showed a successful
year.

president, Mrs. Gerald Carey;
secretary, Mrs. Eldon Allen;

The TA choristers presented
a cantata of Christmas carols at
the HUB church Friday evening
sponsored by the Young People
of the church,
Mrs. Lorne Genttner is a
patient in St. Joseph's hospital,
London, where she underwent
surgery.
Santa Claus will arrive in
Dashwood Saturday, December
21, at 2:00 pm and a 90 minute
film, "The Lady is a tramp"
will be shown at the community
centre at 2;30. There will also
be treats for all the children.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Boyle
and family entertained 34 mem-
bers of the former's family at
a Christmas dinner Sunday, De-
cember 15, at the community
centre. Present were Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Boyle, Mr. and Mrs.
Clarke Sim and family, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Boyle and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Chapman
and family all of St. Thomas,
and Mr. and Mrs. David Wilson
of Toronto. Mr. Wm. Boyle
remained for a week's vacation.

MRS. MARY ZILER
Mrs. Mary Ziler, 73, widow
of the late James Ziler, resident
of Parkhill and formerly of
Stephen Township, died at St.
Joseph's hospital, London, Fri-
day December 13.
Surviving is one daughter,
Anna of Strathroy; one sister,
Mrs. Matilda Voisin of Ailsa
Craig; two brothers, Dan Miller
of London and Gordon Miller
of Crediton.
The body rested at the T.
Harry Hoffman funeral home
until Monday, December 16,
when requiem mass was sung
in church of Our Lady of Mt.
Carmel. Interment was made
in Mt. Carmel cemetery.
LADIES AID
The December and annual
meeting of the Ladies Aid of
Zion Lutheran church was held
Wednesday, December 11 with
35 members present and one
visitor.
Following opening devotions
reports were given by all sec-
retaries and treasurers for the
year's work showing a very
successful year.
A collection was taken for
the Lutheran Hour and donations
made to the Children's Aid and
both the Mission and General
treasuries of the church. Boxes
for the shut-ins will be packed

Elimville CGIT held their
Christmas vesper service at
Elimville UC Sunday evening.
The members came in pro-
cessional march during the first
hymn to the choir followed by
leaders, Mrs. Vernon Mont-
morency and Mrs. John Here.
Scripture passages were read
by Margaret Johns and Kathy
Hern.
Mrs. Montmorency led in the
service assisted by Mrs. Here
who read the story.
The candlelighting service
was conducted by Misses Susan
Allen, Elaine Johns and Sharon
Passmore. Miss Janet Skinner
and Kathy Hern acted as ushers
and took up the offering. The
members sang two anthems.
APPOINTS 4-H LEADERS
The Elimville WI held their
meeting last Wednesday after-
noon. Mrs. Ross Skinner, the
president opened the meeting
and Christmas greetings were
read from the other branches.
The roll call was answered
by "A Community Need,"
Mrs. Ward Hero gave the
hospital report and the new
4-H Club Leaders were ap-
pointed. Mrs. Delmer Skinner
and. Mrs. Wm. Allen for Club II:
Mrs. Thos Hem and Mrs. Ron
Fletcher for Club I.
The program committee was
Mrs. Harold Kerslake as chair-
lady and Mrs. Alvin Cooper,
Christmas scripture was read
by Mrs. Ross Skinner. Mrs.
Harold Taylor read the Christ-
mas story. A reading "Christ-
mas Superstitions" was read
by Ruth Skinner.
Mrs. Kerslake introduced the
guest of the afternoon, Mrs.
Layton who demonstrated
Christmas decorations and
plastic foam articles. Several
carols were sung and the mys-
tery pal exchange of gifts was
held.
Hostesses were Mrs. Harold
Hunter and committee, Mrs.
Wellington Brock, Mrs. Wm,
Allen, Mrs. Chas, Stephen and
Mrs. Lorne Elford.

The Elimville YPU will hold
their meeting Monday evening
Dec. 23 when they will go carol
singing in the community.
The Elimville WI catered to
the School Board members and
wives, the schoolteachers and
escorts at their banquet in
Elimville Hall on Thursday
evening Dec. 5.
Mr. and Mrs. Percy Felker of
Kitchener spent the weekend

sunken battleships in Peet).
