Grade 11 students, under the
direction of their English teach,
er, Mr. George Wright, are
puhlishing a weekly newspaper
at the school. Their first edition
came out Monday and the sales
were very good. This paper can
be bought for five cents.
Last year this paper was
named "The Fly Paper ,' but
apparently this year the name
is to be changed. If any students
have suggestions for a new
name, just let the editors know,
since a new name has not yet
been chosen.
They are awarding fiVe dol-
lars for the most original name.
There is a great deal of work
involved in publishing this
newspaper and so there are two
paper staffs this year instead
of one, One staff publishes it
one week and the other staff
does it the next week.
John Franklin is editor of
the first staff and the other
members include: sports edi-
tor, Karen Finkbeiner; social
editor, Ann Fairbairm news
editor, Bob Storie; column edi-
tor lchael Keay and finances,
Keith Strang.
Bob Thompson is editor of
the second staff, His members
include; sports editar, Iris
Marshall; social editor, Jane
Dettmer; news editor, Bryan
Bayoharn, column editor, Tony
Leversedge and finances, Doug
Huntley.
I hope their paper is as big
a success as it was last year.
TURKEY DINNER
The cafeteria staff is planning
a special turkey dinner for the
students today. Advance tickets
were on sale Thursdayand Fri-
day. These tickets cost fifty
cents.
COMMENCEMENT
This week was a busy one at
school with ever yone busily
preparing for commencement.
The girl's gym was occupied
with dancing. Mr, Sturgis was
practising in the cafeteria with
members of the Glee Club. Up-
stairs in Mr. Sander's class-
room, the Grade 12A students
were practising for their play
and every so often laughter
could be heard. Commencement
promises to be very entertain-
ing and interesting.
I'd like to take this time to
wish everyone a Merry Christ-
mas and a Happy New Year.
