The active work- ers in the UCW dropped from 25 to 7. President Mrs. Cliff Russell expressed the wish that their work might continue in some small way. It is 40 years ago that Rev. W. J. Maines helped to organize this group. Each Member received a copy of the hymnal as a remembrance. Rev. R. S. Hiltz, the last minister of the church, encour- aged. the members to join With other churches and other or- ganiations. Ivan Hunter-Duvar's 14 point performance was tops for the rural lads, closely followed by Chub McCurdy's 13 points. Tuesday, Dec. 10, three games were played by Grades 5 and 6. In the opener the Pups defeated the Kittens 15-1. Scor- ers for the Pups were Gary Campbell, 11 points; Timmy Stover, Philip Moore, David Dettmer and John Kramp, one point each. Fred May scored Kittens' lone point. In the next game the Kittens defeated the Cubs 14-2. Scorers for Kittens were Marvin Bower, 6 points; Lawrence Bieber 4, Ron Lindenfield 2 points, Peter Mason and May, 1 point each, For the Cubs Ron Moore and Peter Kleinstiver made a point each. In the last game the Cubs beat the Kittens 12-5. Cubs scorers were Ron Ferguson, 5 points; Bill Hooper 4, Nelson Cockwill 2, and Ron Moore 1. David Dettmer scored all 5 points for the Pups. Wednesday in grade 7 and 8 games the Lions beat the Tigers 11-8. Various reports were given. Gifts were taken to be pre- sented to the May Court or- phanage home for Christmas, and preparations were made for their delivery. There was a gift exchange with the ladies. CHRISTMAS PARTY A turkey dinner was served in the basement of the church to 81 Friday evening. The primary classes provid- ed the program and a well laden Christmas tree with gifts for all was provided. By MRS. The Base Line School concert will be held on Thursday even- ing. this worthy cause for the yopth of Exeter and district, HOUSE LEAGUE Canadiens and Black Hawks tied 5-5 while the Maple Leafs won their fourth straight with a 6-1 over the Wings. Marvin Bower fired four goals for the Canadiens.Ron Jenks got the other, Randy Par- sons got three for the Hawks while Bruce Fulcher added two. Bob Rowe scored twice for the Leafs. Jim Guenther, John Braid, Larry Haugh and Allen McLean scored one each. Ron Lindenfield scored for the Wings, IN GREAT FORM Exeter Promenaders' Satur- day night "Party Dance" at the arena went off in fine form. Squares attended the event from Centralia, Clinton, Sea- forth, St. Marys, London, Brantford and Exeter. Top caller of the evening was Thorde Spetz who is one of the top callers at the International Convention for Central Canada and the United States, This man was so good that every dance was filled to capacity. Ran- Yon Officials of Hensall Kinsmen club have made an appeal for fan support for their two mi- nor hockey clubs. Two teams have been entered in district competition ban- tam, coached by Kinsman Doug Johnston, and midgets, coach- ed by George Parker and man- aged by Kinsman Bob Caldwell. "Hockey isn't free," said one club spokesman. "It costs the Kinsmen $500 annually to pay for sticks, tape, equipment, sweaters, ice time and trans- portation. These are your boys; so let's get out and support hockey in Hensall."
