Worden former resident Mrs. William Carlisle (Lisle) Worden, 72, of Staffa, formerly of Exeter, died in Victoria Hos- pital, London, Wednesday, No- vember 30, following surgery. She was the former Emily Emelia Frayne of Exeter, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Frayne, In 1948' she married Lisle Worden and they farmed near Staffa until retir- ing to the village. Besides her husband she. Is survived by one brother, Clay- ton Frayne, Exeter and several nephews and nieces. The funeral service was con- ducted by Rev. A. H. Daynard, Staffa, at the Hoppereleockey funeral home, Exeter, Saturday, Nev. 30 with interment inStaffa cemetery, Pallbearers were Roy Mc- Do nal d, Gordon lloggarth, Gerry Agar, Walter O'Brien, Harvey Hambley and Ross Hog- garth. Roy Rader of the Lutheran junior college at Wisconsin spent the American Thanks- giving weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Rader and family. Miss Connie Spellman of the Stratford Teacher's College is staying with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hoffman, while practice teaching at Exe- ter separate school, Connie's home is Kitchener, Miss Mary Graham of Owen Sound and Mr. Ken Magee of Clinton, student teachers from Stratford Teacher's College, are practice teaching at Dash- Wood public school. Dashwood Boy S couts are selling Christmas trees atJohn Kellerman's, The Locker and Food Market, ENTERTAIN HUSBANDS The WSWS meeting of the EUB church was held November 29 in the form of a Christmas dinner with the ladies enter- taining their husbands. Mrs. Gordon Bender's group was In charge of the dinner and Mrs. Art Haugh's group in charge of the program. Mrs. Ken McCrae and Harry Hoffman sang a duet, Guest speaker was Rev. George Sim, minister of the EUB church at Listowel, who spoke on "Bonds of Peace". He related some of his experiences in serving his country in World War 2. He showed slides of the return trip which he and his wife took this past summer to England, Scotland, and Holland, included in these was the Arnheim ceme- tery where many Canadians are buried and cared for by the people of Holland. A special offering was gathered for mis- sions. Conduct service for crash victim Walter R.R. Biesenthal, 35, of Copetown was killed in a car-truck accident November 21. Surviving are his wife, Me- lissa Darrah, four children, Wayne Douglas of Petawawa, David, Albert and Mary at home; his mother, Mrs. Emma Bies- enthal of Windthorst, S as k; three brothers, Nick of Regina; Ted of Peebles, Sask; Herb of Windthorst; 11 sisters, Mrs. C. IVAN DICKINS The death of Mrs. Ivan Dick- ins occurred at Princess Mar- garet Hospital, Toronto, Fri- day Nov. 29. She was formerly Olive Evison of Windsor and London. Mr. Dickins was born on the "Dickins" homestead conces- sion 4 Biddulph, later moving to London with his parents, Mr. Alfred Dickins and the late Mrs. Dickins. She is survived by her moth- er, Mrs. Susan Smale, Bramp- ton, and three children, Joyce Nadine, London, Sonja Darlene, Brampton and Ronald, Belle- ville. The funeral was held from the A. Millard George funer al home, London, Monday, with Canon Trumper officiating.
