An unusual feature of the
agriculture meeting of Clan-
deboye WI convened by Mrs.
David Henry was an hour and
a half visit to the chicken farm
of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rosser,
Ailsa Craig.
They saw 3,000 caged Leg-
horn layers, the methods of
caring and washing eggs and a
storage room with controlled
temperature for the eggs.
The members returned to the
home of Mrs. Rae Hodgins for
their meeting when a donation
was voted to CNIB and it was
planned that white gifts be sent
to the Middlesex branch of Can-
adian Mental Health Associa-
tion this year, A contest on
agriculture was won by Mrs.
Albert Rosser.
The hostess was assisted by
Mrs. Ray Cunningham, Mrs.
Cecil Carter and Mrs. Alan
Hill.

we again compete against other

Antiseptic BEAVER LUMBER
In past years, the girls of
our scnool have put on better
performances than the boys at
the track meets where they
compete against other schools.
However this year, Mr. Bogart
and Mr, Mielde the physical
education teachers, introduced
some clubs which would help
the boys in future competition,
A 25-mile club was formed
in an attempt to increase phy-
sical fitness and also to create
an interest in track and field
since not too much has been
shown in previous years, The
boys, in order to qualify as
members of this club, were
required to run up to a maxi-
mum of two miles daily or could
run not less than half a mile.
Approximately 60 boys com-
pleted the 25 miles. This is
an indication of the enthusiasm
shown.
A 5-minute mile club and a
6-minute mile club were also
introduced to improve the cali-
bre of the distance runners.
There were 16 boys who quali-
fied for membership in the 6-
minute club. The best time was
five minutes and 25 seconds and
this was time set byJohnBrown
of Grade 11A(G). However no
one was able to run a mile in
five minutes and this club has
no members.
