In a candle-light service in
King Street United Church, Osh-
awa, Saturday evening, Septem-
ber 28, Betty Ann Kellett be-
came the bride of Donald Mer-
vyn Welsh of Peterborough, for-
merly of Exeter.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard C. Kel-
lett, Oshawa, and the groom is
the son of Mrs. Welsh, Exeter,
and the late William Welsh.
Rev Wesley Herbert perfor-
med the ceremony. The soloist,
Fred Densham, sang three sel-
ections accompanied by Organ-
ist Rhydid Williams.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, was attired in a

gown of white peau de sole fa-
shioned with a fitted bodice,
scoop neckline and lily point
sleeves. The skirt featured a
straight front panel with, soft
pleats widening to a chapel
train. Her full-length veil of
tulle illusion was held by a
flat bow of peau de sole and
she carried a white Bible cres-
ted with three gardenias and
trailing ivy.
Miss Beth McMullen, Janet-
ville, was maid of honor and
the bridesmaids were Miss He-
len Merrill, Miss Francine Ro-
berts, London, and Miss Carol
White, Ottawa. They wore
street-length dresses of peau de
sole fashioned after that of the
bride, Miss McMullen and Miss
Merrill were in chocolate brown
and the junior bridesmaids were
in gold, They all carried Ho-
garth-line bouquets of pompoms
and roses in fall shades with
accents of wheat sprays.
James Chapman, Strathroy,
was best man and Patrick Hen-
nessey, Chatham, Gordon Kel-
lett and George Murless, both
of Oshawa, ushered.
For the rec,eption at the Fly-
ing Dutchman the bride's mo-
ther received in a sheath and
matching stole coat in mink-
brown faille, dark brown acces-
sories and corsage of Lestra
Hibbert roses. The groom's
mother assisted in a rose-beige
ribbonese dress with matching
feather-trimmed hat and cor-
sage of Orange Delight roses.
The honeymoon was spent at
Lake Placid and Cape Cod. For
travelling the bride wore a suit

groom's mother chose a brown

Following a honeymoon in
Greenwood N.S. the couple will
reside in Exeter.

from Harrow, Chatham, Lind-
say, Sarnia, Toronot, and Lon-
don.
