Missing student
died in summer
The absence of Christine
Finley, aged 10, from Exeter
Public School this term has
brought a number of enquiries
from former classmates and
friends, according to Miss
Clare McGowan, director of the
Huron County Children's Aid
Society.
The little girl died this sum-
mer.
Due to illness in her own
home, Christine lived for the
past two years in Exeter, with
the family of Mr. and mrs.
John Bruls.
This summer, while visiting
with her family in Wingham, she
was suddenly stricken with
peritonitis, and died August 2.
She was born on February
23, 1953, the youngest child of
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Finley,
and is survived by her parents,
and by two sisters, Caroline
and Shirley, and two brothers,
Douglas and Paul.
Her family has expressed
appreciation of the kind letters
and tributes sent to them from
Exeter since her death.

Committee in charge of the
summer gospel services at the
Starlite Drive-In has decided to
continue the program after
viewing the successful results
of the fourth consecutive sea-
son.
The committee announced
this week donations of nearly
$100 as a result of the surplus
from this year's operation. For
three out of the four years, the
financial situation has permit-
ted donations at the end of the
year.
"The committee", reported
Rev. R. S. Hiaz, Exeter, one of
the officers, "greatly appre-
ciates the support during the
past four years. One person
claimed that he had attended
every evening service. And the
cards turned in all favor a con-
tinuation of this type of service
next summer."
Receipts this year were
$551.98 and expenses for speak-
ers, printing, music, electrical
work and theatre etc. were
$45'7.23.
The committee has authori-
zed donation of $30 to the Gi-
