September 19, the day of the
Exeter Fall Fair, approeimate-
ly 70 students from Cratle 11 and
le went by bus to the Douglas
Point Nuclear Plant, located
Perth of Kincardiee.
This educational trip gave the
students an OPPertunity to see a
nuclear reactor. Another rea-
son for the trip was the fact that
nuclear physics is on the Grade
11 course this year for the first
time.
Mr. Dixon and Mr, perry, two
of the teachers in the science
department, accompanied the
students on this trip.
It was fortunate that the trip
was made at this time since the
plant is still under.construction.
However In about two months
when the plant reaches comple-
tion it will be closed to visitors.
The chief guide, Lloyd Doug-
las, led the stedents during their
inspection of the plaet. He had
been et the school the previoup
Monday and had spoken to the
students in preparation for the
trip.
Even though the students did
miss the fair this trip was
certainly more profitable.
