"Bill" Christie and members of Aircrew Course 6303—pilots and navigators —to mark their graduation from Central Officers School in July. Originally the "bell" was a cylinder of a Harvard engine (Pratt and Whitney "Wasp"). The clapper is the connecting rod. In using a component from this particular aircraft, tribute is paid to the vital role that the "Harvard" has had in the development of the RCAF. The Harvard is the aircraft in which so many of today's aircrew learned the basic elements of their flying skills. The honor of first ringing the bell went to Squadron Leader D. A. McConnell, senior supply officer, who was guest speaker and guest of honor at the gra- duation ceremonies.
