A unique c bell" has been pre-
sented to the Flight Cadets'
Mess of RCAF Station Centralia
by the Course Director, Flying
Officer W. "Bill" Christie and
members of Aircrew Course
6303—pilots and navigators
—to mark their graduation
from Central Officers School
in July.
Originally the "bell" was a
cylinder of a Harvard engine
(Pratt and Whitney "Wasp").
The clapper is the connecting
rod. In using a component from
this particular aircraft, tribute
is paid to the vital role that
the "Harvard" has had in the
development of the RCAF. The
Harvard is the aircraft in which
so many of today's aircrew
learned the basic elements of
their flying skills.
The honor of first ringing the
bell went to Squadron Leader
D. A. McConnell, senior supply
officer, who was guest speaker
and guest of honor at the gra-
duation ceremonies. The ring-
ing of "the bell" carries with
it a slight deterrent which no

Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the 19th,
20th and 21st days of September 1963
from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm (9:00 am until 6:Q0 pm and
from 8:00 pm until 11;00 pm D.S.T.).
The polling places for the said electoral district will be located at:
Sills Hardware, Seaforth; Cornish Electric, West St.,
Goderich; Town Hall, Exeter; Town Hall, Clinton;
for the purpose of receiving the votes of voters who expect on the day fixed for polling, to
be absent from and unable to vote inthe polling subdivisions for which their names appear
on the lists.
THE BALLOT BOXES WILL BE OPENED AND THE VOTES COUNTED AT 7:00 pm (8:00
pm DST) ON THE 25TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER 1963 AT THE SAID PLACES.
