ELIMVILLE
The Elimville Vacation Bible
class sponsored by the Elim-
ville CGIT leaders and mem-
bers with an enrolment of 98
held a successful week and fi-
nished Friday afternoon with a
picnic. On Sunday morning a
service was held with the par-
ents as guests. Mr. Elson Lynn,
the Sunday School Superinten-
dent, opened the service.
Mrs. Ross Skinner, the VAS
director, took charge of the
program. The allegiance to
the Christian flag and Bible was
given followed by a rhythm band
number and song by the pre-
school children. The offering
was taken by Misses Debbie
and Janet Hern, Carol Bell and
Sandra Skinner and the offera-
tory prayer was given by Miss
Joan Pym. The primary class
presented a skit "The Good
Samaritan" and sang an action
song "o the Foolish Man".
The junior class demonstra-
ted on a flannelgraph, "The
Two Roads of Life." They sang
a number, "The 23rd Psalm."
The entire members of the
school sang. Misses Susan Al-
len and Barbara Hern present-
ed the leaders with gifts on be-

Mrs. Wareham, Ralph, Robert
and Derek were each presented
with a leather covered hymnary
and Mr. Wareham with a purse
of money.

A miscellaneous bridal show-
er was held in honor of Miss
Sandra Finkbeiner on Friday,
July 5, at the Crediton Com-
munity Hall.
Friends, neighbors and re-
latives enjoyed the program ar-
ranged by those in charge: Mrs.
John MacKay, London, Mrs.
Lloyd Eagleson and Mrs. Harold
Fahner, all aunts of the bride-
elect. A reading was given by
Janet Morlock followed by a vo-
cal solo by Margaret Haist.
A poem was read by Mrs. John
MacKay after which a number of
girls put on a mock wedding.
The presentation address was
read by Miss Donna Hamather
of Exeter,.
MARKS 80 YEARS
Mrs. W. Mathers of Exeter
was honored on the occasion of
her 80th birthday by a family
gathering at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Ed Lampert.
Also present were Mrs. Ma-
ther's brother, Mr. Alfred
Nicholson of Parkhill and a
niece from Boston. Another
brother also in Boston was un-
able to attend.

SHOWER FOR BRIDE
A miscellaneous shower was
held in the basement of Brinsley
United Church on Friday, June
28 for Miss Edith Morley whose
wedding took place Saturday,
July 6.
A short program was held as
the Bridal Chorus was being
played. Edith was escorted to
the decorated chair by Misses
Betty and Marg. Amos. The
address was read by Mrs. Wil-
liam Morley. Following theop-
ening of the gifts Edith thanked
those present.
An old pastime for children
of former years was renewed
recently when Jean, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Fen-
ton, was trying her skill at
kite flying.

pede.
