Wintermeyer predieted
that the election would be held
in October. The visit to Lambe
ton East riding was in support
of Russel Watson, Watford, the
candidate in the riding. A Cem-
plimentary luncheon tae staged
in the Imperial Hotel by party

Mr. Wintermeyer r e c all e d
early visits to Grand Bend as a
child and a young man and said,
"it was my ideal summer resort
in all of Onterio".
The opposition leader com-
mented that the present govern-
ment treated the tourist in-
dustry as an "orphan child",
not as a great source of em-
ployment for the people of On-
tario.
"The industry needs a net-
work of highways to speed holi-
dayers to their destination,"
stated Mr. Wintermeyer. "We
must expand the facilities of
our resorts to a year-round
operation with fall and winter
activities,''

Mr. Wintermeyer empnasiz-
ed the need for a public utili-
ties waterworks grid through-
out the province. "It is as im-
portant as hydro," he stated,.
