Children's Day was observed

23 with a combined service. The

at 3 pm, Saturday, June 8, in
Holy Trinity Anglican Church,
Lucan, when the rector, the Rev.
E, 0. Lancaster, united in mar-
riage in a double ring cere-
mony, Helen Elaine Hodgins
and Thomas Louis Triebner.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Evan Hodgins
of RR 1 Lucan and the groom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Triebner of Exeter.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a floor-
length gown of peau de sole,
featuring a tight fitting bodice,
elbow length sleeves and scoop
neckline, enhanced with hand
made lace, and scattered seed
pearls. The softly pleated skirt
with front lace panel, swept to
a chapel train. A. tiara of seed
pearls and crystals, held her
silk illusion, elbow-length veil.
She carried awhile Bible, cres-
ted with pink roses, stephanotis,
and streamers.
Her sister, Mrs. Robert Ro-
binson, of London, as matron
of honor, Mrs, Al Kobler of
Dresden and Miss Diane Walk-
er of Byron as bridesmaids,
were identically attired in twi-
light turquoise gowns of peau
de sole, featuring strapless bo-
dices, bell-shaped skirts, with
over jackets of lace, They wore
matching pill box headdresses
and carried cascades of tur-

quoise tinted, and white mums
with stephanotis.
The bride's s m al 1 niece,
Marie Dale Robinson of Lon-
don, made a charmingwee flow-
er girl, in a pink nylon dress
with rainbow lace jacket and
carrying a basket of white mums
and pink roses,
Jack Triebner of Exeter was
best man for his brother. Roy
Triebner of London, his nephew
and Robert Robinson also of
London, brother-in-law of the
bride, were ushers.
Mrs. E. 0. Lancaster, as
organist, provided traditional
wedding music, and accom-
panied the soloist, Frank Egan,
now of Lucknow.
At a dinner and reception in
the Legion Hall the bride's
mother received in a two piece
charcoal and navy printed crepe
gown, white accessories and
pink carnation corsage. She was
assisted by the groom's mo-
ther in a beige lace dress, beige
accessories and pink carnation
corsage.
For a honeymoon motor trip
to Northern Ontario, the bride
changed to a three piece pink
linen suit with navy accessories
and white corsage.
The couple will make their
home on the groom's farm, RR 1
Exeter.
Guests were present from
Exeter, Trenton, London, Mich-
igan, Parkhill, Detroit, Ilder-
ton, Thorndale, Woodham,
Dresden and Lucan.

Our two ball teams have not
fared so well during the past
week. The Peewees have play-
ed two and lost two but I be-
lieve they will win a few be-
fore the season closes. The
Midgets lost their first start
5-3 to Centralia. Their play
indicated that they will be heard
from in the very near future,
The new swimming pool will
commence operation on July
1 and the official opening cere-
monies will be on Saturday
July 20 with a full day's and
evening program planned. This
day should be very entertaining
so please bear this date in
mind.
Registration for the first ses-
sion of swimming instruction
will be next Saturday June 29
at 1:30 pm and any person who
anticipates registering on this
date should be here early be-
cause a heavy attendance is in-
dicated. The area will be split
up into groups according to
location as follows: 9-9:30 am
Parkhill, Ailsa Craig and West
Williams; 9:40-10:10 am Mc- ,
Gillivray Central, Crediton, Mt.
Carmel; 10:50-10:50 am Bid-
dulph and Clandeboye; 11:00-
11:30 am Oxbow and Prince
Andrew; 11:40-12:10 am Lucan
Public and St. Patricks.
The first two sessions of
classes will be two classes of
Learn to Swim, one class of
beginners and one class of ad-
vanced beginners. The second
two sessions will consist of
one class of Learn to Swim.
Ole class of beginners, One
class of advanced beginners
and one class of junior and in-
termediate Red Cross. If for
any reason one wishes to cla.ri-
fy their' particular session they
may do so by calling 227-4221.
Any parent who has children
too small to learn to swim may
still take advantage of the stun-
trier school and playgroundpro-
gram by sending their child to
register on Tuesday July 2 at
the arena. The cost will be 500
per Week per child.

last Sunday. Thirteen little peo-
ple were present. A picnic was

Most of the meeting was spent
in finalizing plans for the an-
nual ham and strawberry sup-
per, June 26 and to arrange the
menu for August 11, when the
Most Rev. A. H. O'Neil, arch-
bishop of Fredericton and Me-
tropolitan, the Ecclesiastical
Province of Canada, will be
the guest speaker.

At the 11 o'clock service Bet-
ty Ann and Helen Lewis of Mrs.
