J.M. Tiernan, lay delegate to
the annual conference of the
BUB church held recently at
Bridgeport, reported to the
Dashwood congregation of some
of the actions of the conference.
The EUB denomination is
presently working on a basis of
union with the Methodist church
which will be voted on in 1966
at the general conference ses-
sion. The Canada conference is
going to make a study duringthe
next year pf: the possibilities
and effects of union with the
Methodist church in United
States; the possibilities and ef-
fects of the Canada conference
haying union with the United
Church of Canada and achieve,
manta, present statu s, and
prospects of each local church
in the Canada conference.
The time table for the ques-
tion relative to church union
includes a vote if possible at
the annual session of conference
either in favor of preparationof
union with the Methodists or
preparation for union with the
United Church of Canada. In the
years of 1964-66 a preparation
of the basis of union will be
made. The vote will be taken
in 1966.
The 1964 annual conference
session will be the centennial.
It will be held at Zion church
Dimchurch: "People ought to
go away on vacation to forget
things."
Lunkhorn: "Right. And when I
get back home and open my lug-
gage I always find I have."
