The Exeter Times-Advocate, 1963-05-23, Page 16F/L W,H. FARRELL. RCAF educator to Centralia post Flight Lieutenant W. IL "Bill" Farrell, DFC CD, offi- cer in charge of training stan- dards and development at Radar and Communications School RCAF Clinton, has been trans, ferred to Central Officers' School, Centralia. The transfer will take effect In August. F/L Farrell is well known in the Clinton-London district as a capable guest speaker at ser- vice clubs. Be was the first RCAF officer to carry out active experiments in programmed learning at Clinton. The popular word for programmed instruc- tion is "teaching machine". During World War II F/L Farrell served overseas as a navigator, winning the Distin- guished Flying Cross for gal- lantry in action. Since his war- time days he has served as an education officer. Sugar & Spice - continued from page 13 red spots, but nobody ever sees them except other trout, who Promptly try to eat them. And don't feel that they haven't a chance against the cruel angler. Sending a sedentary civilian against a brook trout is like sending a hippopotamus out to catch monkeys with a butterfly net. The real reason I go trout fishing at least once a year is that it's a ritual of spring that purges the soul of those simmerings which have built up during the winter. After a long day on a rugged trout stream, even civilization looks pretty good, Win ch e /sea By MRS. WM.
