Miss Jean Henderson was
guest soloist at Bayfield United
Church on Sunday, May 12 (Mo-
ther's Day).
Mrs. Laird Mickle, Mrs. R. H.
Middleton, Mrs. Walter Spen-
cer and Mrs. W. 0. Goodwin,
attended a luncheon, fashion
show, and bridge last Wednes-
day in Kitchener. They were
guests of the former's daugh-
ter, Mrs. Ross MacMillan.
Mr. and Mrs. Eric Kennedy
of Hamilton have taken up resi-
dence in Hensall, with the lat-
ter's brother, Mr. Ira Geiger.
Mrs. Archie MacGregor at-
tended the Medical Records
convention at Don Mills, held
in the Hospital Service Com-
mission Building May 13, 14
and 15.
OSRSS Larry Jone s, who
spent the past two weeks at his
home here, left Monday for
Gloucester, near Ottawa where
he will spend several weeks on
a training course.
Mrs. Edna Corbett visited
over the weekend with her son-
in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Ed. Schroeder.
Misses Dorothy and Gerald-
ine Parker of London spent the
weekend with their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Parker and
Patsy and attended the funeral
of their grandmother, the late
Mrs. Emily Parker, on Monday.

the weekend with his grandpar-
ents, Mr. andMrs. Wes Venner.

former councillor
Donald E. MacKinnon, resi-
dent of Hensall for the past 40
years, died in South Huron Hos-
pital, Exeter, on Saturday, May
11 where he had been admitted
as a patient three weeks earlier.'
In his 69th year he was born
in Arnaud, Man. He was in train-
ing in the Canadian Army fol-
lowing World War One, and
served overseas with the RCAF
in World War Two.
In municipal life he served
on the council for one year,
and was a former member of
Hensall Branch 468 of the Can-
adian Legion. He took an active
part in the activities of the
village.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Janet Park; three sons,
Donald of Alvinston; Sergeant
Ronald MacKinnon, Germany;
Bill at home; three sisters
and eight brothers including
Ray MacKinnon of Hensall. Also
surviving are six grandchild-
ren.
Public funeral services were
held from the Bonthron Funeral
Home Tuesday, May 14 conduct-
ed by Rev. Ross MacDonald with
burial in Bairds cemetery.

sented by the pupils from var-
ious grades of Hensall Public
School under the direction pf
Mrs. Phyllis Rodgers, music
teacher, to a packed house at the
town hall on Friday.

interspersed by square dances,
choral recitation by Tim Mock,
Michael Sangster and Beverley
Cornell; solo, Pamela Sangster;
duets by Doug Mock and Bert
Koeslag and Linda Hay and Deb-

Guitar solo, Kenneth Jones;
duet, Muriel Ferguson and

KINETTES AID KINSMEN
Members of Hensall Club at
their meeting voted to lend the
Kinsmen their support in the
Kinsmen playground project.
They also voted to sponsor
their adopted child in Italy again
this year and to send her a birth-
day gift.
Appointed to attend the Dis-
trict No. 1 Kinsman convention
in London May 17, 18 and 20
are Mr. and Mrs. Ross Jinks,
Mr. and Mrs. William Fuss, Mr.
and Mrs. Bob Baker Jr., Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Drysdale and Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Hyde.
