Bible Diploma Monday evening
at the graduation exercises of

Mission. She has completed the
general Bible course, The Lon-
don college is an evangelical,
interdenominational college,
dedicated to the training of
Christian leaders for service at
home and abroad.

Miss Sue Hartman of Windsor
spent a few days visiting with
Mr, and Mrs. Alphonse Hart-
man.
Rev. Father James Kelly of-
ficiated at the funeral mass of
his uncle, Mr. Robert Ryan, in
'St. Thomas last Saturday which
took place from Holy Angels
Church.
The Holy Name Men are spon-
soring a dance and social even-
ing in the parish hall this Friday
evening May 3.
Several ladies from here at-
tended 8 pm mass at St. Bonif ace
Church last Friday and after-
wards the CWL play group of
Mt. Carmel put on their play in
Zurich Town Hall. The Zurich
ladies served lunch at the close
of the evening. Rev. Father
Cyril Doyle spoke to the group.

elects slate
Bill. Brown, 20, of RR 2 Sea-
forth, formerly of Hensall, was
admitted to St. Joseph's Hos-
pital, London on Sunday in
serious condition with a frac-
tured right arm and collar bone,
head injuries, facial and knee
cuts.
He suffered the injuries when
his car crashed into a tree at
Mooresville, north of Lucan on
Highway 4. Two young men from
Exeter found him and it took one
hour to release him from the
car.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
William Brown, formerly of
Hensall, who took up residence
in Seaforth district a month ago.

OSRSS Larry Jones, who has
spent the past four months at
Cornwall i s, Nova Scotia, is
spending two weeks at his home
here.
Mr. William R. Dougall was
taken to South Huron Hospital,
Exeter, this week, where he is
receiving treatment.
Mrs. Edna Corbett spent a
few days this week visiting with
her son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parker and
Patsy.
Miss Annie E, Consitt enter-
tained the Past Grand's club
of Amber Rebekah Lodge at her
home on Monday evening.
Mrs. Gerald Flynn and infant
daughter returned home from
South Huron Hospital, Exeter
on Tuesday.
Homer Campbell, Roy Brock,
and Howard Rannie attended
the National Warm Air Heating
School in London for three days
and were successful in passing
the required examinations for
oil burner service with high
marks. All are employees of
Fink's Plumbing, Hensall.
Mrs. Chester Lee has retur-
ned home after spending the
winter months with relatives in
Florida.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hoy,
Michael and Billy, were in Kit-
chener on Monday attending the
funeral of Mr. Hoy's brother,
Mr. Arthur Hoy.

Promoted to sergeant
Robert Lambie, Hensall, has
been promoted to the rank of
sergeant, it was announced by
RCAF Station Clinton recently.
Sgt. Lambie, who enlisted in
1948 as' an aero engine techni-
cian, remustered to electronics
in 1961 and is now an instructor
at the radar and communica-
tions school, Clinton. He and
his family reside at Hensall,

Hensall United Church was
filled to capacity Sunday evening
for the presentation of aMusic-
ale by the church choirs, junior,
senior, and men's congrega-
tional chorus, under direction
of Mrs. Robert Pryde with pro-
ceeds for the organ fund.
Mr. Werner Knoch, tenor so-
losist at St. Peter's Cathedral,
London, was guest soloist, and
soloists in the choir numbers
were Douglas Mock, of Hensall,
and Douglas Martin, G r and
Bend. Bob Bale and Ann Mickle
rendered piano duets. Choir
numbers concluded with the
Hallelujah Chorus by the senior
choir.
The sum of $250 was realized
for the organ fund. Luncheon
was served in the c hu r c h
schoolroom to all those taking
part by the UCW.
BINGO WINNERS
Share the Wealth winner at
Legion Bingo Saturday night was
Mrs. Earl Dick, Cromarty; door
prizes were won by Mrs. Wes
Venner and Mrs. Norval Reid.
Fifteen regular games were
played. Next Saturday night the

elects Jinks
Ross Jinks was elected pre-
sident for 1963-64 of Hensall
Kinsmen Club at the dinner
meeting.
Other officers are past pre-
sident John Heal; vice-presi-
dent, John Baker; secretary,
Tony Charrette; treasurer, Jim
Hyde; registrar, Ron Wareing;

BROWNIE NEWS
On Tuesday, April 23, the
1st Hensall Brownie Pack re-
sumed meetings following the
Easter vacation, with an at-
tendance of 25.
During the Fairy Ring, Susan
Broadley, on behalf of the Brow-
nies, presented Tawny Owl,
Mrs. John Drysdale, with her
Warrant and pin. All the Brow-
nies honored her by giving the
Grand Howl.
Mrs. George Sinker was in-
troduced to the Brownies as a
second Tawny and commenced
her duties by helping the Golden
Hands with knitting.

Hensall, was the winner of 1000
gold bond stamps in a draw at
the IGA Saturday night. Mrs.
Ed Munn drew the lucky coupon.
Robert Hedden, of St. Cath-
arines, formerly of Hensall,
finished in sixth place in the
Niagara District Ten Pin As-
sociation Singles Tournament.,
In the team event the Hedden
team finished in fifth place.

Mitchell Saturday after visiting
with Mrs. John McMurtrie for
the past two weeks.

the occasion being Ann's tenth
birthday.

operating costs go up. This is
something we as Canadians have
to face. I would think the future,
not only of Ontario but of the
whole country, could be at stake.
"If we deny these young
people interested in and capable
of taking advantage of university
education, we would be under-
mining our whole social and
economic structure and th e
future of the land we love," he
concluded.
