Special Easter Services were
held at both the HUB and the
Lutheran churches with sunrise
services being held at both
charches.
At the HUB church the Youth
Fellowship was in charge fol-
lowing which the Bethany Sis-
ters Sunday School class served
a light breakfast.
At the Lutheran church the
Ladies Aid served breakfast
with 'Mrs. Leonard Schenk, con-
vener, in charge.
At the morning service of the
EUB church the following per-
sons took membership vows:
Mrs. Clayton Merner on con-
fession of faith; Clifford Pen-
hale and Mr. and Mrs, Mervyn
Webb on letter of transfer.
The Crediton EUB church
presented the Easter Cantata
"From Gloom to Glory" in the
HUB church Sunday evening.
The Youth Fellowship of the
EUB church held a car wash in
the church parking lot onSatur-
day.
DASHWOOD MERRY MAIDS
The eighth meeting of the
4-H girls was held Monday,
April 15 at the home of Yvonne
Devine with 18 girls present
and the leaders Mrs. Leonard
Schenk and Mrs. Stuart Wolfe.
Plans were made for Achie-
vement Day April 27. The girls
covered their books and marked
the dusters. The roll call was
one thing to remember in caring
for nylons.
James Dearing
dies at age 91
James Dearing, 91, London,
formerly of this community,
died at his late residence on
Sunday, April 14.
He was the survivingmember
of a family of 12--four sons
and eight daughters. He farmed
at RR 1 Exeter on the farm
now occupied by Wallace Makins
but moved to Dorchester and
then London about 40 years ago.
He is survived byfour daugh-
ters and one son, nine grand-
children and four great grand-
children. Quite a number of
nieces and nephews live in this
community.
Funeral services were held
on Wednesday, April 17 with
interment in Woodland ceme-
tery, London.
Ceremony was invented by a
wise man to keep fools at a
distance.

School room. The theme of the
service was "Christ The Lord
Is Risen Today",
