Membership up in MWODA
The Mid-Western Ontario
Development Association, hard
hit in 1962 by the withdrawal
of a number of participating
municipalities, looks to a some-
what brighter future in its 1963-
64 operation.
Ross Savauge, Seaforth, re-
tiring president of the associa-
tion's executive, said increased
membership this year will bring
about $3,000 more into the trea-
sury. He also has hopes that
others will join or rejoin.
A deficit last year of $1,846,
he said, was caused by the lack
of members. The 1962-63 re-
venue from memberships had
been estimated at $11,000 in
the association's budget, but the
actual revenue was $8,127. This
year, Mr. Savauge said, $11,010
will likely come from member-
ships. To date, $7,832 has been
received.

members of MODA. Mitchell,

SUGGESTS DRIVE
Mr. Le Masurier suggested
that a drive for members be
undertaken in Perth. He sug-
gested that rural municipalities
could make a strong body for
MODA.
pointed a finance committee to
bring in the 1963-64 budget. The
board had originally planned to
determine the budget during the
meeting, but A.H. Le Masurier,
chief co-ordinator of the re-
gional co-ordination division of
the Department of Economics
and Development, suggested
that it is not fair to the MODA
general manager, Elmer Goe-
bel, of Stratford, to have him
work at the budget.
The new president of the ex-
ecutive, Allan McCulloch of Ar-
thur, and the four zone chair-
men, Ken Burke, Waterloo
County, Howard Stacey, Perth
County, Howard Aitken, Huron
County, and Howard Latch, Wel-
lington County, were appointed
to this committee.
Other executive members

The association's board ag-

proceed with the third part.
Three sections in this part of
the study deal with population,
