A greater interest in politics
at all, levels needs to be created
among Canadian citizens, says
the student leader of E111211S,
Dennis,Mock of Itensall•
He cited the scarcity of pub-
lic meetings during the repent
federal election as an example.
"I think there shouldbe more
Meetings during the campaign
to keep people inforMed of what
is going on," he said. "There
has been hardly any activity in
this area during the election".
Dennis is the second Hensall
youth to be chosen as the
school's representative to UWO
student leader groups this year.
Beth Goddard, Hensall, was na-
med to the girls' club earlier.
The honors are given to the
outstanding senior students at
the school each year.
The son of Mr. and Mrs.
Ronald L Mock, Hensall, Dennis
is a first-class honors student
in grade 13 who hopes to study
chemistry at UWO after his
graduation.
He's a former president of
the boys' athletic society, for-
mer vice-president of the stu-
dents' council, member of the
champion Panthers' basketball
and volleyball teams, and for-
mer junior and intermediate
track champion at SHDHS.
Outside of school, he sings
in Hensel]. UC choir and is a
member of the YPU.
He's also the star netminder
of the Hensall-Zurich Com-
bines, the junior team which
lost to Strathroy in playoff com-
petition, and he plays baseball
on his home town team.
The Combines' loss in the
recent series with Strathroy
was a big disappointment, since
the club had hopes to go into
provincial playoffs. "We just
didn't seem to have that all-
important team spirit at the
end," he said. "I guess we
won too many games during the
season and it made us a bit
over-confident."
Dennis expresses these views
about current topics:
Nuclear war: "I don't think
there's going to be one. Neither
No visas need

Effective April 1, citizens of
Belgium, Germany, Luxem-
bourg and the Netherlands en-
tering Canada for periods of
three months or less will no
longer be required to obtain
a Canadian non-immigrant visa.
This measure, according to
the Dep't of Citizenship and Im-
migration, is designed to facili-
tate the movement of tourists
and visitors to Canada as part
of a long-range program to re-
duce and simplify travel for-
malities where experience in-
dicates this to be practicable.
