Grade 11 launches school paper

riod on Wednesday afternoons in
the boys' gymnasium. The pur-
pose of this club is to give
girls in grades 11, 12 and 13 a
better chance to do gymnastics,
one area of physical education
not covered extensively in
class. Although only 15 girls
attended the first meeting the
number is expected to rise.

The students play every Wed-
nesday in the girls' gymnasium
in a tournament. Unfortunately
attendance has slackened be-
cause of the interference of
basketball games. This activity
is supervised by Mr. R. Bogart.

Library's circulation increases
town will be charged a nominal
fee of $1 per showing for any
film in the block. Films may
also be booked from the library
in Hanover by contacting Mrs.
Laing.
The library board gave some
consideration to the purchase of

A school newspaper, which is
still unnamed, was recently
launched by students of Grade
XL
It is under the direction of
Mr. G. Wright. The staff in-
cludes the following students:
Editor, Grant Peek; assistant
editors, Susan Dinney andSusan
Thompson; sports editors, Da-
vid Dale, Larry Idle, Marjorie
McPhee and Judy Lamport; cri-
tics, Glenn Shipman, James
Semple, Ted Mock and Jim
Bisback; cartoonists, Jim Kin-
rade, Arthur airrell and Janis
Hood; typists, Kathryn Oke and
Brenda Bocock; printing, Gary
King, and head salesman, Mark
Hoffman.
The paper will be published
weekly and will include such
features as; letters to the edi-
tor, an editorial, advertise-
ments, articles on current
school activities, book and mo-
vie reviews and sports articles.
It is hoped that through this
paper students may come to
consider journalism as a
career, school spirit may be
lifted and students will be given
the opportunity to express their
opinions.
ORGANIZE BADMINTON CLUB
In order to give students a
better chance to play badminton
a badminton club was formed at
SHigh. Its 70 members are
a projector but decided to wait
until interested organizations
indicated their willingness to
assist financially in this pro-
blem.

material may be obtained at

The facilities of the Exeter
Library are being used more by
more people according to the
librarian, Mrs. Hilton Laing's
'report for 1962 given at the an-
nual meeting of the board last
Wednesday evening.
Circulation was 23,743 an in-
crease of 500 over the previous
year and there were 731 mem-
berships an increase of 80.
Mr. Roy Stover has been ap-
pointed a member of the board
by the Exeter Public School
Board to 'replace Mr, Howard
`Ince who recently resigned.
Cecil Wilson was re-elected
chairman with secretary-
treasurer, Mrs. John Schroeder
and librarian, Mrs. Hilton
Laing. Property committee in-
cludes A. B. Idle, R. Stover
and C. Wilson; book committee,
,Mrs. Gordon Koch, Mrs. J.
Schroeder', Mrs. J. 14. South-
colt and magazines, Mrs. South-
colt, A. Idle and R, Stover.
• Recently the Library Board
have assumed financial respon-
sibility of membership for all
organizations of the town of
Exeter in the Huron County
Film Council. A block of film
is now in the library and avail-
.able to such groups.
