At the UCW meeting held at
the home of Mrs. Carman Wood-
burn members were divided into
four groups for panel discussion
on United Church Women's work
in the church. This created
some interesting discussions.
Mrs., Elton Curts took the wor-
ship service.
Mrs. H. Harlton reported that
120 lbs. of used clothing had
been sent in the bale and gave
a list of the articles asked for
to be sent by May 1. The
treasurer gave a gratifying re-
port for the first year in the
new organization.
Twenty-five members ans-
wered the roll by paying their
fees. The February meeting will
be held at the home of Mrs.
Wm. Hicks.

hospital, London, by Hoffman's
ambulance,
LADIES AID.
The quarterly missionary
meeting of the Ladies Aid of
Zion Lutheran church was held
Wednesday, Jannary 9 with 25
members and one visitor pres,
ent. Mrs. Milfprd Merner, pre-
sident, conducted opening devo-
tions.
Rev. William Getz took as
his mission topic Keep Infor-
med, with some lively discus-
sion. Mrs. Ken Keller reported
on mission projects and urged
everyone to bring old Sunday
School supplies.
The Ladies Aid business was
then dealt with. It was reported
27 boxes were packed and de-
livered to shut-ins at Christ-
mas. Quilting is being done in
the basement.

ing here from Saskatchewan are
both patients in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, the latter
having undergone emergency
surgery.,
Mrs. Fred Schroeder, who
has been a patient in St. Jo-
seph's hospital, London, was
able to return to her home on
Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Stelck were

neighbors in Dashwood prior to
their taking up residence at

Mrs. Ray Parkinson and Mrs.
William French were hostesses
for the UCW meeting in the
church on Thursday afternoon
Twelve members were present.
Mrs. William Morley was in
charge of the meeting. The
theme was "The Day of Be-
ginning Again". Mrs. Ken Hodg-
son read the Scripture.
The treasurer presented her
report for 1962. It was decided
to make a quilt for the supply
allocation for this year.
During the business it was
decided to have a box social
early in February. At the Feb-
ruary meeting the members are
asked for a shower of bowls,
towels and salt and pepper shak-
ers for the church kitchen.
Plates with the church picture
on will be secured and sold in the
near future.
Mrs. Bert Duffield presided
over the program which in-
cluded a reading by Mrs. Hamil-
ton Hodgins. Rev. D. M. Guest
continued the Bible study on the
"Apostles' Creed".
