A group of the Ladies Aid
of Zion Lutheran church catered
to a banquet Friday evening
at which the Sunday School tea-
chers, their assistants, and the
elderS of the church were guests
in honor of Mr. Reinhold Mil.,
ler, who has retired after serv,
ing for 25 years as Sunday
School superintendent.
Following a sing song, Rev.
Wm. Getz spoke in which he
stressed that paid was speaking
to us. as well as the Romans.
The new superintendent, Albert
Miller, presented Reinhold with
a prayer book from the con-
gregation and .a book from the
teachers. Mr. Miller expressed
his gratitude and the evening
was brought to a close by sing-
ing "Abide with Me", a re-
quest from Mrs. Reinhold Mil-
ler,
WINS STEREO
Hubert Miller was. the lucky
one to win the stereo in the
Christmas draw sponsored by
the Dashwood firemen. Hubert,
a farmer living at R.R. I, Dash-
wood, is the first local person
to win in recent draws.
Sunday Jan. 27 is Youth Fel-
lowship Sunday and the World
Service Day is Feb, 3. Lunch
was served by Mrs. Amelia
Wille,rt, Mrs. Gordon Bender,
Mrs. Sid Baker, and Mrs. Cora
Gaiser.
SKATING PARTIES
The boyS and girls Fellow-
ship of the HUB church enjoyed
a skating party in Dashwood
followed by iunch at the church
under the direction of Mrs. Ray
Guenther, Mrs. Hugh Boyle, and
Mrs. Gerald Mason.

of the Stratford District for a
skating party at Milverton last
Wednesday followed by lunch at

SURPRISE PARTY
Miss Thelma Weber was
pleasantly surprised Saturday
evening when Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Schade of Zurich, Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Weber and
Shelley of Crediton, and Mr.
and Mrs. Ralph Weber andfam-
ily gathered at the home of
Mrs. Dan Weber on the occasion
of her birthday. Also sharing
in the party was Miss Diane

WSWS ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting of the
WSWS of the EUB church was
held Friday, January 4 with the
Christian Social Relations
group in charge and Mrs. Gor-
don Bender, convener. Mrs.
Carl Oestreicher took the topic,
"The New Year". Janice Tie-
man and Patricia Bender sang
a duet. Rev. Merrill James was
in charge of the election of
officers. President is Mrs.
Chas. Snell; vice-pres. Mrs.
Letta Taylor; secretary, Mrs.
Harold Kellerman; assistant,
Mrs. Stuart Wolfe; L.A. treas-
urer, Mrs. Howard Klumpp;
