The powerful Valiants copped
the Exeter Public School foot-
ball charnpionship this week
when they scored a hard-fought
8-6 win over the Pontiacs.
The winners opened the scor-
ing in the tilt when Jimmy
Gifford intercepted a pass by
Melvin Whiting and then took.
a pass from his own quarter-.
back, Ron Broderick, to race.

However, the Pontiacs quick-
ly evened the count when Whit-
ing grabbed the kickoff and

day's affair, LAC Joe Berthe-
let, reports that close to 30 dec-
orated cars, floats, bands and
marching units will take part
in the gigantic parade.
The RCAF band and the Exe-
ter Legion Pipe Band will pro-
vide the marching music for
the group and will be assisted
by an eight-member -majorette
team from 3'. A, D. McCurdy
public school.,
The Boy Scouts and Cubs will
join the parade as well, along
with the many gaily decorated
ears and floats, many of which
are being entered by Exeter
businessmen.
The parade will form at the
recreation hall near the main
gates and will then proceed
along the streets at Huron Park
at 1:00 p.m.
Following the parade through
Huron Park the floats will tour
the quarter mile track at the
playing field where they will be
judged,
The football game is expected
to commence around 2:00 p.m.
