PLENTY OF ACTION -The opening game of the six,
team touch rugby league at Exeter Public School on
Thursday provided plenty of action before the Ramb-
lers emerged with a close 1-0 win over the Chcvs on a
lone single kicked by David Beavers, Although the
don't use any equipment in the light-contact game,
this picture shows the determination of the players
along the line as one of the plays starts in motion,
Don Tremeer, who supervises the contests, is shown

Gives turkeys,
winning effort
Art Cann turned out to be
both a good provider and a
7,00(.1 bowler when he showed
up at the Exeter bowling
greens for a mixed jitney,
Wednesday.
?,eing one of the last events
* the season, Cann donated a
turkey that was carved up to
provide turkey-burgers for a
social evening following the
day's bowling.
However, while the other
competitors may have been
dreaming about the tasty mor-
sel that awaited them, Cann
went out and teamed up with
Ulric Snell and Mrs. William
Lamport to win top prize.
The threesome had a pair of
wins and a plus of 16 to nar-
rowly edge Wilt Goodwin and
Luther Reynolds who copped
two wins but only had a plus
of 1.5.
Third place went to Ray
Smith and Ivan Hirin i who
recorded a plus of seven with
their two victories in the event
which saw 26 bowlers com-
peting.
Win on Saturday
On Saturday, Alvin Pym and
Mabel McKnight teamed up to
take top honors with a pair of
wins and a plus of 18 to easily
outdistance the second place
team of Howard Truemner and
Clarence Down,
They also had a pair of vic-
tories, but had only a plus of
six.
Wrap up season
The bowlers concluded their
successful season Saturday and
Alvin Pym and his wife, Lillian,
teamed up to take the final.
event of the year,
The two ardent howlers had
a pair of wins and a plus of
15 to gain the honors.
In second place was a team
of Ted Chambers, Howard
Trimmer and Luther Reynolds,
who scored a pair of wins as
well, but had a plus of only
five.
