phy in the annual Labor Day
Shoot held at Kippen Sunday.
He topped the field with 45 out
of 50 points.
Runner-up was Hedley Prouse
of Goderich with 44 out of 50,
Five teams entered for the
Chester Lee Memorial Trophy
with teams from Stratford and
Goderich tied with 111 out of
125, Kippen team had 109 points.
Wins gold medal
Steve Kay, of St. Catharines,
won a gold medal and $100 in
rash at the Canadian National
Exhibition, Toronto, in the ac-
cordion solo competition.
He is a son of. Mr. and Mrs.

dies during visit
Mrs, A, R. Campbell of Sar-
nia, a former Hensall resident,
her husband, the late Dr, Camp-
bell, being a veterinary surgeon,
here for over 20 years, died
suddenly on Saturday, Septem-
ber 1 at the home of her broth-
er Mr, Donald MacDonald of
Wbou, Cape 'Breton, N.S. with
a coronary. Mrs. Campbell was
visiting her brother at the time
of her death,
The former Hazel MacDonald,
and a native of Ca,pe Breton,
N,S., she was in her 73rd year,
and is survived by three sons,
jim and Bill, Sarnia, and Gor-
don, Toronto, and one brother,
Donald,
Public funeral services were
held from the Bonthron Funeral
Home, Henan, Wednesday,
September 5 conducted by Rev.
W, A, Young of Guelph. Inter-
ment was in Baird's cemetery,

Mother dies
Mrs. Mabel Scott, Mt,
Brydges, mother of Mrs. Jack
Corneil, died Monday morning,
September 3 in Strathroy Gen-
eral Hospital in her 73rd year,
following a. week's illness. Her
husband predeceased her a
number of years ago.
Surviving are one son and
four daughters. Funeral services
were held on Wednesday, Sep-
tember 5.

At the meeting of the lien-
sail Legion Ladies Auxiliary
Tuesday evening in the Legion
Hall plans were made to eater
to a Kinsman banquet for the
installation of Kinsmen and
Kinette officers on Thursday,
September 13.
Mrs. William Smale, presi-
dent, who was in the chair for
the meeting, and Mrs. E. R.
Davis were named delegates
to attend the Legion Auxiliary
convention in Niagara Falls
September 24-27.
Plans were made for the
Auxiliary birthday party to be
held October 9 when Auxiliary
members from Exeter and Sea-
forth are to be invited. Miss
Dorothy Hoyle, Stratford, who
organized the Auxiliary 13
years ago will be a special

held her fingertip veil and she
carried a cascade of white
mums and sweetheart roses.

identical dresses of ice blue
silk organza.
