Huron county blind persons picnic here
Some 40 blind persons and their escorts from Huron county attended their annual
picnic recently, held this year at. Riverview Park, Exeter. They participated in
contests and were served lunch by members of Hurondale Women's Institute.

dies in hospital
James Omar Dobbs, 71, a res-
ident of Exeter for the past
three years, died, after a leng-
thy illness, in St. Joseph's Hos-
pital, London, Thursday, July
26.
Mr, .Dobbs was a wellknown
Biddulph iarmer on Concession
5 about four miles north of Lu-
can. Due to ill-health he sold
his farm to Jim Mugford about
three years ago and retired to
Exeter.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Blanche Hodgins,
two daughters, Sirs.. G e
(Ruby) Hunter and Mrs. Earl
(Phyllis) Tinney and five grand-
children ,all of London,
Funeral services were con-
ducted by Rev. Edgar Rout-
ston, Exeter, on Saturday, July
28 at the Sturdy funeral home,
Luean. Interment was in St.
James cemetery, Clandeboye.
Pall bearers were Messrs.
Fred Dobbs, Allen and Bruce
Isaac, Bill and Hubert. Quinton
and Laverne Abbott,
last week at the Pinery with her
cousin, Sharon Fletcher, who
was camping there.
Mr. and Airs. Jack Blair and
family attended the Flannigan
reunion which was held at Port
Lambton on Sunday.
Mrs. Mervin Elston entertain-
ed a few of her neighbor ladies
on Thursday afternoon, They in-
cluded Mrs, John McAllister,
Airs. Melville Buswell, Mrs.
Sam Skinner, Mrs. jack Blair,
Mrs, Bob Blair, Sirs. Allan
Elston, Mrs. Karl. Weiberg and
Mrs. Lorne Weiberg.
Miss Bonnie Blair accompa-
nied by Miss Wendy Elston
spent a few days last week in
Exeter with Mr. and Mrs. L.

There were 48 children and
grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs.
Chris Fischer gathered at their
home on Concession 2, Bid-
dulph, on Sunday, August 5.
Dinner and supper were served
on their spacious lawn in a
tent.
This was their annual picnic.
Mr. and Mrs. Fischer are the
proud parents of 12 children,
11 being present, One son, Bill,
was absent owing to unavoid-
able circumstances.
