Exeter ath- letes copped one individual championship at the Lake Hur- on zone track meet held in Kin- cardine Wednesday. ' Speedy Jack (Hover of Exe, ter, competing in the senior boys' division, copped a num- ber of firsts during the meet but just failed in his bid for Championship honors, The Exeter team, consisting of some 40 athletes, made the trip to Kincardine by bus and they finished fourth in the com- petition among the eight cen- tres participating in the meet. Port Elgin once again walked off with first position in the standings with their total of 152 points. Exeter managed 116 points for their fourth-place fin- ish. Exeter Lawn Bowling club staged a very successful mixed lobrnament for local bowlers at the Exeter green on Wednesday afternoon. Winners of the two-game jit- ney were R. E. I'ooley and. Hugh Jove. The two teamed up to win both their games and fin- ish with a plus of 16.
