CE s wcer squad

Football League 4 winning one

sets.
The ,Centralia squad carried
most of the play in the ..game
but were thwarted. in several
good .scoring opportunities do e.
to some inaccurate shooting in
front of the goal,
Brussels -opened the scoring
in the early minutes. when Ken
Store. the centre forward, broke
through the defense to drive, a
bard shot past the out-stretched
.arnis of goalie Brian
Centralia finally got back in
the contest as they started to
connect with their crisp pksses
and Allington knotted the'count
at the 7:53 mark with a well,
placed shot into the corner of
the Brussels net.
The score remained at 14 for
ftw rest of the first half but
the airmen jumped into their
first Thad in the opening
ides on a beautiful passing play
between Hewson and Phipps,
with the former denting the
twine.
They held the edge until 12
minutes later when Stone pick-
ed up the ball and cutting
through the defense in a nifty
solo effort, booted a hard low
shot from close in that was in
the net before Corke had
chance to move to block
The CE entry appeared to he
tiring in the final minutes but
Gerry Cummings, who played
a standout game, sparked 'ttern
on to their final tally that gave
them their win.
He barely missed slinking the
winner himself as he headed a
shot. that hit the crossbar, but
Hewson came racing in to boat
the ball into the cage.
