Watford Monday, April 9 from
the Harper Funeral Home,
Watford, with interment in

is attending military school at

Hensall PS students wilt pre-
sent a musical program in the
town hall Tuesday night, April
17, under the. direction of the
music supervisor, Mrs. Phylis
Rodgers.
The program will include cho-
ruses by each classroom and a
variety of other musical num•
bees,
In addition, grade one and
two pupils under Mrs, Robert
Elgie will present s e v e r al
square dances and a group of
boys under the direction of
Eric Mansfield will demonstrate
tumbling exercises,

Mrs. W, Dulling and Mrs, Sim
Roobol conducted the devotion.

At the third meeting of Hen-
sail UCW held Monday evening

tures taken last summer of her
trip to her native land, Hol-
land.
Miss Sharon McBride, SH-
MIS student, gave her prize-
winning speech "The National-
ists Movement in Quebec,"
Mrs. Douglas Cook chose the
chapters "Religion Without a
Cross' and "The Cost. of God"
from the hook "Christ and Hu-
man Sufferings" for her devo-
tional topic. She was assisted by
Mrs. J. Cornell and Mrs, Ed
Corbett in the devotional and
Mrs. William Fuss sang the
Lord's Prayer accompanied by
Mrs. J. C. Goddard.
Miss Joyce Flynn of the jun-
ior choir sang "In the Garden
Some. Day." It was decided to
carry on with the Baby Band
party in June as in previous
years and to have a joint ba-
zaar in the fall.

Former resident dies
Mrs. Esther Perley, daugh-
ter of the late Mr, and Mrs.
John Corbett, Hay Township,
died in Montreal on Sunday.
After her marriage to the
late Charles Perley she took up
residence in Winnipeg, Man..
and the past few years has re-
sided with her daughter, Mrs.
Albert (Margaret) Barnes in
Montreal. A son, Alfred, re-
sides in Kingston.

A large crowd attended a re-
ception to honor Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Taylor Saturday eve-
ning in Zurich Community Cen-
tre. The address was read by
Bert Thomson and Laird Ja-
cobi presented the couple with
a well filled purse of money.
During the evening Mary,
Beatrice and John Thomson
entertained with a musical num-
ber accompanied at the piano
by Mrs. Malcolm. Dougall of

Thrifty Kippenettes
The sixth meeting of the
Thrifty Kippenettes was held on
March 24 at the home of Mrs,
Alderdice. The roll call "some-
thing I have learned about
making a garment" was ans-
wered by the members. A dis-
cussion was held on Achieve-
ment Day.

The Messengers of Goshen
United Church met in the Sun-
day School rooms on Sunday
morning, April 8. The program
was prepared by Mrs. Douglas
Robinson who opened with he
call to worship after which
Debbie McKinley led in prayer,
Cathy McKinley took the roll
call with about sixteen mes-
sengers answering it. Connie
Robinson took up the offering,

leader read the story and con-
ducted a quiz on it,
