Lucan
and district news
Two of the talon Home and
School Association's year
projects are a June banquet
and a presentation of pins to
the graduation class, To meet
the expense of these two pro-
jects, concerts, dances and hat
shows have been field.
This year the executive de-
cided to stage a variety show.
Script was secured, cast cho-
sen, and practise begun, when
the flu hit the village and the
whole thing had to lie shelved,
owing to inability to get the'
cast together,
For a time it looked as if
the 1962 graduates would be
pinless and banquet-less hut
the executive decided to make
one last effort, to "reach the
top" so with the 100 percent
support of the school staff,
arena board and the business-
men of Lucan, they are stag-
ing a large ice carnival at the
arena March 31, with prizes
for best costumes, oldest and
youngest skater, largest fam-
ily on the ice, Some of the
other highlights will be com•
tidy on ice, races, tug-of-war,
figure skating and demonslra-
lion of the twist. All the exe-
cutive need now, is the sup-
port of the community to put
their project over the top, and
not disappoint the 1.962 gradu-
ates.
