Ring-master Frederick May, right, presents members of three of the acts he will
introduce Saturday night when the Exeter Figure Skating Club presents its an-
nual carnival "Under the Big Top". The show will encompass all the local skaters
and will also feature four guest artists, who are all Western Ontario champions in
their respective groups. Instructor Arthur Burke will also present a comedy num-

Mr. and Mrs, Torn Rees en-
tertained the former's parents,
Mr, and Mrs. E. Rees of Park-
hill and family to dinner on
the occasion of their 25th wed-
ding anniversary on March 24.
Those present for the happy
event were Mr. and Mrs. Car-
man Pickering and family,
Brinsley, Mr. and Mrs. Ron
Heaman, Barrie, Mr. and Mrs.
jack Rees, Toronto, and Mrs.
Rees and Miss Earlene
Rees of Parkhill,
Cottage service
Cottage service was held at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Har-
ry Carroll on Tuesday evening
with 14 members of St. Pat-
rick's church present,
Rev. L. Bennett was in
charge of the service and the
discussion period which fol-
lowed. A cup of coffee served
by the hostess was enjoyed by
all,
The ladies put a quilt in the
frames ready for the quilting
bee which was held on Wednes-
day and Thursday.
Mrs. Carroll was assisted in
serving lunch by Mrs. Ray-
mond Greenlee for the quilting.
Next Tuesday evening the
cottage service will be held
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Earl Atkinson,

Victor J, Sweet
native of Exeter
Miss Hettle Sweet and Mr.
and. Mrs. Stewart Blackwell
were in Windsor last week at-
tending the funeral of the for-
mer's brother, Victor J. Sweet,
a native of Exeter.
He died in Metropolitan Gen-
eral Hospital, Windsor, where
he had been a patient for four
months,
He was a son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas Sweet, Exe-
ter, and was born on the farm
now operated by Mr. Elmer Mc-
Bride, just south of Exeter,
He is survived by his wife,
the former Ins M, Scott, Wind-
sor, one sister, Miss. Bettie
Sweet, and one brother, Clin-
ton R. Sweet, both of. Exeter.
A brother, Harry, died in Aug-
ust 196.1.
The deceased was a member
of the Masonic Lodge No. 47
AF&AM under whose auspices
a service was held in the Wal-
ter D. Kelly funeral home,
Windsor, on Thursday eve-
On Saturday morning the re-
mains were taken to Alvinston
for interment. The graveside
service was conducted by Rev.
John A, Walker, a former resi-
dent of Exeter,
