LIGHT FROM THE GOSPELS
OD
THE MEANING OF THE CROSS
1. MARCH .18 "God so loved the world"
li
fresh look at the love of God as Jesus knew it and
ved it; and through which alone the Cross can be
understood,
2, MARCH 25 "And He began to teach them that the
Son of 'Man must suffer"
The watershed of the Gospels—when Jesus began to
leach that the Galilean ministry of helpful words and
deeds was not enough.
3. APRIL 1 "Be it far from Thee Lord, this shall never
be unto Thee"
Some things Jesus said to His closest friends who could
see no sense in the Cress.
4. APRIL 8 "Woe unto that man through whom the
Son of Man is betrayed! Good were it for that
Man if he had never been born"
The long shadows of the Cross,
S. APRIL 15 The Cross.
6, APRIL 22 The Resurrection.
These meditations oh the Cross aro taken from the four gospels
and, following these records are designed to let Jesus show tis
the Cots. Seeing it thus through His mind we should our.
selve$ ceme to understand it more simply and profoundly, and
feet again its centrality and power in bur own personal faith.
