on my diet. I lost 65 pounds,"
The author contends that, al-
though starvation is one of the
most cornmon techniques of
losing weight, it is not practi-
cal because it reduces weight,
not simply by reducing the
amount of fat in the body but
by reducing the amount of all
body tissue. Moreover he
writes "starvation is accompa-
nied by weakness, lethargy,
constipation and other disturb-
ing effects and "when you stop
fasting, as ultimately y o u
must, y o u quickly regain
more weight than you lost."
The essence of his findings
lies in an astonishing fact;
that the number of calories one
takes in, is not -important; it
is the kind of calories that
counts."
We note that this book ranks
second highest in non-fiction
