A former Kippen area resi-
dent, now living in Hamilton,
has joined the growing number
of flying enthusiasts who have
built their ow. planes.
Wilmer MacGregor, a HAM-
ilton aircraft mechanic, de-
signed as well as built his own
aircraft from scratch. .It is a
single-seater bi-plane reminis-
cent of the years between the
wars.
Mr. MacGregor is the son of
Mr. and Mrs, William MacGre-
gor, RR 3 Kippen. His wife,
Muriel, is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. James nacho, Eg-
mondville.
With the exception of the
wheels, power-plant and pro-
peller, the entire aircraft was
built from raw materials, and.
it absorbed about two years
of MacGregor's spare time,
The result is a racy-looking
craft that has a smart perform-
ance yet is docile to handle.
MacGregor, a meticulous
craftsman and a skilled pilot,
did his own test-flying. He re-
