A junior NCO's course that
has been running for the past
13 weeks at Camp Ipperwash,
with manouvres in the Pinery,
and finished in the school at
Camp Borden, concluded with
a banquet last Wednesday eve-
ning (attended by cadet NCOs,

A minor accident at the ski-
run in the Pinery on Sunday
afternoon compelled a Sarnia
resident to return home. He
was not badly injured.

Miss Lillian Morley of Milver-
ton, One daughter, Elva, died
in 1958.
The funeral was held from
Hopper-Hockey Funeral Home,
Exeter, on Saturday, Feb. 17
with. Rev. Duncan Guest con-
ducting the service. Interment
was in Zion cemetery, Usborne
township.
Pallbearers were Laverne
Morley. Ray Jaques, John
Finkbeiner, Wilfred Herbert,
Arnold Here and Bryce Dale,
Mrs. R. A. Mark

Mrs. Rhoda Ane Mark, wi-
dow of Joseph P, Mark form-
erly of Oil Springs died sud-
denly in. Sarnia Feb. 13, 1962,
in her 91st year.
She was horn at Grand. Bend
daughter of William Gamble
and Rebecca Sexsmith. She at-
tended high school in Park-
hill and married Joseph Mark
at Grand Bend in 1894.
They made their home at
Parkhill and in and around
Grand Bend for some time.
Most of 'her life was spent in
Dawn Twp. where after her
husband's death in 1938 she
made her home with her bro-
ther Albert and later in Oil
Springs, with the last few years
in Sarnia.
Surviving are her sister-in-
law, Mrs. Albert Gamble of
Mt. Forest, also three nephews
and a niece, Oliver Haggart of
Brownsville, Kenneth Gamble
of Dawn Twp., William Gam-
ble of Mt. Forest, Mrs. Voyle
(Gamble) McDonald of Corun-
na. She was pre-deceased by
three sisters and two brothers.
Rev, G. . Raymer, Sarnia,
of the United Church, con-
ducted funeral services at the
Metcalfe Funeral Home in Oil
Springs, Friday, Feb. 16. Bu-
rial took place in the Oil
Springs Cemetery.

The UCW meeting was held
on 'Tuesday evening in the

four ladies present,

song was sung. Airs. Oscar
Brine had charge of the wor-
ship service, the theme being
"Our church in our commun-
ity.”
Mrs. Robert Robinson Pre-
sented a chapter from the
study book. Mrs. i. Wareham
favored with a solo and. Miss
Marion ,AlcNaughton gave a
reading.
A story entitled "Where
Fades the Thin Line" which
tied in with the study book
and worship service was given
by Mrs, Harry Webber. The
roll call was answered by nam-

Mrs. John Stutchbury has
just returned home following
10 days in Victoria Hospital
where she underwent surgery,
Mrs. Beatrice Allen has been
a patient in St. Joseph's Hos-
pital, London. since Wednes-
day of last week. Her son,
Mr. Andrew Allen of Creelman
Sask. arrived by plane the
same evening and is spending
several days with Mr. James
and Miss Margaret Cook.
Mr, Kenneth Hodgins met
with a painful accident on Fri-
day of last week when he fell
on the ice and twisted his
knee. X-rays were taken at
South Huron Hospital on Sat-
urday morning to determine
the extent of the injury.
Mr. Richard Shoebottom was
a weekend visitor with his
cousin, Mr. Larry Johnson. in
London.

Mr. Case was taken to hos-
pital -previous to his depth. He
had been in. hospital for ahout
a month near the end of the
year,

are two sons, Donald on the
home farm, and. Grant, Barrie;
two sisters, Mrs. Elgin Row-
cliffs, RR 1 Hensel!, and Airs.

Centralia art winners
The Centralia art group was well represented in the
'awards list of the 1961 RCAF art contest. Winners in-
cluded Mrs. C. Lafrance, seated, who received first
prize in the amateur class with her portrait "Ute"; Mrs.
L. Ashton, whose painting, "Niglk PMQ", was awarded
second prize in the professional Nasst and Sergeant F.
C. Staines, formerly of RCAF Saskatoon, who won a
third prize in the amateur class with his painting "The
Stooker". The latter painting is now in the possession
of the officers' mess, RCAF Station Rockcliffe.
