G. Van Eek. Mr. and Mrs. Van Eek and family, who came here 31 years ago, left Monday for their new charge at Fort Wil- liam, They were honored on a number of occasions by the members and groups of the parish before their departure. At the annual meeting, Feb. 9, approval was given for the purchase of an electric organ which is now being installed in the auditorium. A special collection for the organ fund was taken Sunday. Annual report of Clerk Oege Koopmans showed the congreg- ation now has over 300 mem- bers for the first time in its history, Mrs, Dick Van Wieren, re- tiring librarian, revealed that several hundred volumes have been added to the library. Mrs. Van Wieren, who has been in charge of the library for the past 10 years, will be succeed- ed by Abe DeMooi. Zurich, The congregation met its al- location for the year, estab- lishing a per family contribu- tion mark of $4.90 per week, This is the total contribution covering building fund, mis- sions and other commitments. The objective for next year has been raised. The congregation is still at- tempting to sponsor a refugee to Canada. Recently, papers were signed on behalf of a young man from Europe. GB 4-H group begins project GRAND BEND First 4-H meeting for the spring project, "Separates for Summer", was held at the home of Miss Karen Taylor, assistant leader, Pamphlets were distributed to the eight girls present. The leader, Mrs. Willis Steeper, led the discussion on "Choos- ing the style and selecting the materials". Next meeting will be Feb. 23. By MRS. Wgl-t..w9Qp.
