Jones and Connedtor Mrs, Minnie Noakes attended the general z op e Meting of the Mid-Western Ontario Development Associa- tion held at Stratford Country Club Wednesday, Feb. 7. The Association is comprised of the Counties Huron, Perth, Wel- lington and Waterloo, Chairman Howard Aitken of Goderich stressed the fact that it is very important for each member to create interest at a local level and in turn at zone level, This association and its activities are advertised by b r o chutes sent to places through-out the world. Mrs. Noakes was appointed secretary for 1962-63. Rec committee elects Noakes Hensall redreation commit- tee, meeting Monday evening, elected Mrs. Minnie Noakes chairman for 1962 and appointed Eric Mansfield and Murray Ba- ker as representatives to the parks board. General discussion was held on various activities that could be sponsored by the recreation committee in the near future. Meetings will be held the last Monday of each month. Miss Dora Aliar dies in hospital Public funeral service for Miss Dora Alair, a resident of Hensall for many years was held from the Bonthron Funer- al Chapel on Monday, Febru- ary 12 conducted by Rev, Ross MacDonald who paid fitting tribute to her life. Burial was in Hensall Union cemetery. Miss Alair died Friday morn- ing in Clinton Public Hospital after an illness of two weeks. She was born in Hay Town- ship and was in her 80th year. She was a member of Carmel Presbyterian Church and the Women's Missionary Society. Surviving are, one sister, Mrs, Adam Steep. She was in her 82nd year and. had been seriously ill for one month. Mrs. Tuffin was born in Wal- ton, November 6, 1880 and fol- lowing her marriage to Mr. 'Puffin in 1911, came to live in Staffa, where she resided ever since, Mrs. Tuffin was a member of Staffa. United Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Sylvia) Parsons, Staffa, and Mrs, John (Edith) Aldington, Varna, two brothers, Leslie Butson, Staffa, and Earl Butson, Regina, six grandchil- dren and two ereat-grandchil- then.
