Epiphany family night
Epiphany Family Night, spon-
sored by the Ladies' Aid of
Zion Lutheran Church was held
Friday evening with Mrs. Al-
bert. Miller, convenor, and her
group in charge.
Opening with a sing song of
favorite hymns, a film. "White
Man's God" followed: Numbers
were given by the Sunday
School, junior and senior choirs
and men's club.
The Walther League pre-
sented a skit, "School Daze
Minstrels". The Ladies' Aid
also presented a skit, "The
Lord's Prayer."
A pooled lunch was served.

the singing at the Sunday
School service on Sunday mor-
ning. -

schoolroom of the church on
Thursday _evening for the reg-

Shower for bride elect
Miss Catherine Hodgins was
guest of honor at a miscella-
neous shower in the school-
room of the church on Friday
evening. Valentine decorations
were used to form the setting
for the happy event.
Entertaining on the program
were Marilyn Morgan who fa-
vored with a piano solo; a vo-
cal duet by Jean Lammie and
Ann Shoebottom with piano ac-
companiment by Sharon Light-
feet. Elaine Powe gave a read-
ing and duets were sung by
Margaret Heist and Marie
Powe with Elaine Powe at the
piano.
An address was read by
Joyce McFalls, Blanche Rol.
lings and Margaret Bowden as-
sisted the bride-elect in dis-
playing the gifts. Catherine ex-
pressed her thanks for the
gifts and to the ladies who ar-
ranged the shower for her.

The Junior Chancel Guild of
St. John's•by-the-Lake Angli-
can Church, Grand Bend, held
its meeting recently in the
parish hall with Diane Hood,
the president, in the chair,
Canon Roy Manwaring, of
Saskatoon, who will be officiat-
ing as rector until the end of
May, spoke to the girls on the
subject of Holy Communion
being the highest form of wor-
ship of God that mankind at-
tains. Mrs,. Manwaring attend-
ed with her husband and was
a special guest.

At the CGT1' meeting on Mon-

died suddenly at her home,
Green Acres, Grand Bend, on
Sunday, February 4.
