Mrs. Bloomfield was the for- mer Mary Martha Kydd, daugh- ter of the late ..onathan and Anne Kydd who llved at Hay for over 50 years. Mrs. Bloomfield had lived in London since 1928. Her hus- band died in 1954. Surviving are three daugh- ters, Mrs, Aubrey (Greta t Gra- per, Exeter; Mrs. Leonard (Hazel) Chamberlain, London; Mrs. Ray (Marguerite) Clark, Montreal; sister, Mrs. Florence Redden, Crumli n; brothers, John L. Kydd, Exeter; Wil- iam, Holyrood.; Milton, To- ronto, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Service was held Thursday, Dec. 21 in the Needham Me- morial Chapel, London, by Canon J. Peach Layer Dessert 4 peeled ripe peaches or 2 cups drained sliced canned peaches 1 cup pastry flour 1 tp baking powder tp salt ,a, cup shortening cup sugar 1 tp grated lemon rind 2 eggs I n cup sugar tp cinnamon cup chopped walnuts, Sift and measure flour and sift wth baking powder and salt. In mixing bowl cream short- ening, and sugar. Add lemon rind, then the eggs beating well. Add flour mixture. Spread half of batter in greased 8" square pan. Top with peach slices, then spread rest of batter over peaches. Mix La, cup sugar, cinnamon and walnuts, sprinkle over bat- ter. Bake in a moderate oven 350" for 50 min. Serve hot, cut in squares, plain or with cream. Makes 6 servings, Grapefruit in Lime Jelly 1 pkg lime-flavored jelly powder I ii cup hot water cup grapefruit juice 12 to 15 grapefruit sections 6 to 8 maraschino cherries. Dissolve jelly powder in hot water. Stir in grapefruit juice and cool till partially set, Ar- range grapefruit sections and cherries attractively on the bottom, Pour partially thick- ened jelly carefully into mould so as not to disturb the fruit arrangement, Chill.
